  • rip harry morgan

  • AYKROYD! FTW

  • Roger Ebert cited in his review the movie credits had original music and then the original music segued into some kind of dreadful disco rap un-music, and when the movie ended I had to drown out the disco Drano from the screen.

Man what does he know :(

  • It would cool if they redid the movie.

  • This kind of sampling music may be standard now, but back in 1987 it was avant garde and on the cutting edge. It was also the same year Pump up the Volume by M.A.R.S was released (another early track that used sampling).

  • I have to say, for a movie that is one of the funniest I've seen, that turned out to be only SLIGHTLY epic?

THIS IS THE MOST EPIC INTRO EVERR.

the music with the repeated quotes from Dan Akyroyd and the film of the badge?

    legit.

  • @hippocrit1234 yeah, lol, I love when the dude says "Dragnet" and the sound of the song itself is very epic :-)

  • Good vid but you sped it up

  • @simpsonsfan95 thanks, but I actually didn't intentionally speed it up, I'm not sure why it's sped up, something happened during the converting I think.

  • Man, Why can't modern-day movies have intros as COOL as this?

  • @SergeantLuke - I know! lol

  • @SergeantLuke Because modern film-makers have no imagination. Spielberg is a great director, but he's the worst offender at boring titles. Also check out the original Superman movie titles. That kind of epic imagination seems to be no more :(

  • lol, I freakin love this movie. The intro song is great! Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd ...what a brilliant pairing those two were.

  • yeah, I can't imagine anyone else playing their parts :-)

and the intro is awesome, I love when he says "Dragnet!" lol

  • i wish the whole movie was on here.

  • do you know about torrents? :-)

  • Ahhhh...happy memories

  • I agree :-)

  • no problem, thnx, I changed it :-)

  • Thank you for posting this. It was one of my favorite films growing up and I had forgotten about the awesome opening sequence.

  • No Problem! it is a wicked intro, love when he says "Dragnet" lol one of my favorite movies too..

    "....useless scum lapping shitbag..." haha

  • This track still rocks! One thing though...it sounds sped up. Is this from a PAL copy of the film or a print that has been subject to time compression?

  • hmm, I just copied it right from the Avi file, it doesn't sound sped up to me, lol, maybe you got better ears than me :-)

watch the movie again, maybe you just don't remember it being sped up....

  • it is sped up just a touch.

  • hmm, I don't know I watched the movie, and it sounds identical to this, I'm not trying to argue, haha, maybe were watching different things, oh well, no biggie, haha

  • I just uploaded the normal speed version of this, check it out above ...

  • haha yeah, you are right, I wouldn't have noticed, but yeah mine is a little faster...wonder why..weird. lol

  • Does anyone know if this version was ever issued on vinyl, cassette or CD? I have probably four different versions of it and none of them are the film version!

Still one of my all time favorite movies, and maybe the only TV to film adaptation I like.

  • Okay, by process of elimination, I'm thinking this is an edit of the "Arthur Baker 7" Mix." But I'm not entirely sure yet...

  • I'll have to check that out...

  • "cleaner streets, better schools, a decent hockey team....."

  • This movie rocks....I love it and my mom showed it to me when I was younger.

  • Yeah, it's a classic :-)

  • I rememeber when this movie first came out in Theatres I saw it at least 5 times that time.. I love this movie Dan Akroyd played that role to a tee! And Harry Morgan from the original Dragnet series was in the movie

  • Great track, although I think it would have been better with the full Dragnet march at the beginning, rather than just the final notes.

  • This track is just plain fucking cool!

It hasn't really aged much, either.

  • bought this film on DVD recently... it's fah'kin awesome! :) This theme son's pretty boss as well.

  • i love this film !!!!

  • Sweet!!!

  • this version of it was Killer!

  • yeah it is, :-)

  • No Problem, my pleasure :-)

  • Thankyou very much for uploading! I was looking for this for weeks! I love you :P

  • wohh!! shouldn't we maybe go out for dinner first? see how things progress? lol

no problem, I was surprised that this intro was nowheres to be found, so figured I would upload it!

  • Just the facts mam

  • "Says who flathead!?"

"Says California penal code, section .10.20.270.20.760.20 good enough for you lady!!" LOL!!

  • one of my favorite scenes, lol

  • great music by ira newborn (as always), thanks for posting!

  • hey, thanks for providing her name, I thought it was done by "Art Of Noise" or was it? I'm so confused! lol definitely a good tune tho.

  • You're right, Art of Noise who did the opening titles, Ira Newborn is the guy responsible for the score. Great tune

  • This is an AWESOME movie and the opening ROCKS! Great Beat to the music!

  • That song is so fucking badass

  • yes it is, lol

  • Aykroyd is just a genius: a man born to be a clown.

  • Yes, and he's also Canadian! hehe
