Roger Ebert cited in his review the movie credits had original music and then the original music segued into some kind of dreadful disco rap un-music, and when the movie ended I had to drown out the disco Drano from the screen.
This kind of sampling music may be standard now, but back in 1987 it was avant garde and on the cutting edge. It was also the same year Pump up the Volume by M.A.R.S was released (another early track that used sampling).
@simpsonsfan95 thanks, but I actually didn't intentionally speed it up, I'm not sure why it's sped up, something happened during the converting I think.
@SergeantLuke Because modern film-makers have no imagination. Spielberg is a great director, but he's the worst offender at boring titles. Also check out the original Superman movie titles. That kind of epic imagination seems to be no more :(
This track still rocks! One thing though...it sounds sped up. Is this from a PAL copy of the film or a print that has been subject to time compression?
hmm, I don't know I watched the movie, and it sounds identical to this, I'm not trying to argue, haha, maybe were watching different things, oh well, no biggie, haha
Does anyone know if this version was ever issued on vinyl, cassette or CD? I have probably four different versions of it and none of them are the film version!
Still one of my all time favorite movies, and maybe the only TV to film adaptation I like.
I rememeber when this movie first came out in Theatres I saw it at least 5 times that time.. I love this movie Dan Akroyd played that role to a tee! And Harry Morgan from the original Dragnet series was in the movie

I have to say, for a movie that is one of the funniest I've seen, that turned out to be only SLIGHTLY epic?
THIS IS THE MOST EPIC INTRO EVERR.
the music with the repeated quotes from Dan Akyroyd and the film of the badge?
legit.

@hippocrit1234 yeah, lol, I love when the dude says "Dragnet" and the sound of the song itself is very epic :-)

Okay, by process of elimination, I'm thinking this is an edit of the "Arthur Baker 7" Mix." But I'm not entirely sure yet...

Great track, although I think it would have been better with the full Dragnet march at the beginning, rather than just the final notes.

It hasn't really aged much, either.
