Thanks so much for posting this! I heard this song on the Nicola Conte DJ set "Live at Astro Jazz Lounge", but had no idea what the name of the song was or who was playing it since that set was never officially released. Through some detective work I discovered that it was probably the Dudley Moore Trio. Now, several years later I've finally found out what it is. Thank you!!!
This song is great! check out this songs' cover version by Why Wait, they dedicated an entire Vinyl to this piece... really good Italian trio.. not on youtube tho :\
This is truly a great piece of music. These guys are amazing . I wish I knew more about DM trio back in the day. I basically only know of him as an actor,a great actor,comedian. Not as a great jazz man. He played some in the movies and you knew he was very talented,but I had no idea he had these roots in jazz. Now I can't get enough. Thanks for posting this video.
I cannot thank you enough for posting this - My fave DM tune. Fantastic. And Gruntol - yer spot on about 2:30. The nuance and simplicity of this arrangement are stunning. Happy Easter, Eggs to you.
Such a brilliant, BRILLIANT TALENT!! Why, in the name of God and sanity, did his work all but disappear with the advent of the CD..? I might have expected that perhaps it would be harder to get here in Australia...but I can't get it from LONDON!! HELP,ANYBODY!!!!!!!!!!
That sudden break of tempo at 2.30 is so intoxicating, I never get bored of hearing it. I yearn for those days when jazz was an important part of TV coverage.
Sublime. If this is anything like the rest of the album then it's a must-have. Thanks for posting. Are you willing to put up another one? {nudge nudge, wink wink}
Dud was fantastic in many things, but Hollywood comes way down in 3rd place, before that their is his partnership with Peter Cook and his amazing musical abilities
I can not believe I never knew about this guy until recently. What a great piano player and actor/personality. Many people I speak with (musicians included) never knew what a great piano player he was either. It is such a shame that he is no longer with us.
Me too - I jujst thought he was an actor who also played a bit of piano, but I discovered through an interview about Erroll Garner what really was behind Dudley Moore:At first, a great musician.
Yeah, I would also like to get my hands on this album. Disappointingly, I keep coming across CDs of his which have absolutely nothing to do with this great jazz and are full of, alas, schmaltzy bollocks.
I just LOVE this whole album. I first heard it nearly 30 years ago. It belonged to my tutor at college. I just love the original compositions - great stuff! WHERE OH WERE can get purchase a copy of it though? I can't find a copy for sale ANYWHERE!!
MANY thanks so much for posting this great song though.
So pleased to have come across this track. DM was so underrated for his musicianship and yet he was composing, arranging and performing material like this with such fluidity. Dudley, where'er you may be - thanks for the music!

This is fantastic. I also recommend hunting down a copy of Genuine Dud (Decca - 1966). Still my favorite jazz album of all time.

This is absolutely amazing! The only problem is that I can't seem to get ahold of the rest of the album. Any ideas?
