Sammy extended there careers and there sound... one of the greatest bands in the world but with out Sammy they couldnt have made the next step and would have just drifted off into the sunset. I love both David and Sammy but they were 2 different singers that made 2 different bands that gaped 2 different generations

@TheMajik07 I agree that Sam couldn't sing Dave's songs like Dave could, but you missed my point entirely. My point was that Roth can't sing Sam's songs AT ALL. He can only sing his own songs. Even Gary Cherone never had as much a problem singing Dave's songs as much as Sam's. If you asked Dave to sing "5150", "I Can't Drive 55", or "Dreams", he couldn't do it. Sammy would sound better singing Dave's songs than Dave singing Sam's.

@servantlol I guess it's an opinion thing, cuz I have heard Sam try to sing Dave's songs and he sucks really bad! I have only heard Cherone try Panama and it was terrible. Dave has never attempted a Sammy song cuz he hates them, so I don't know how you can say he CANT. I cant imagine it would be very good but again he has never attempted. Every attempt Sam had at Dave's songs were really bad so I dont get where you think he would sound better??? There is nothing to compare them.

Regardless of what Sam sounds like singing Roth's songs, I'm almost positive Dave wouldn't be able to sing Sam's music. If he could sing that high, he probably wouldn't have needed Mikey to sing those high harmonies. I love Roth, but in my eyes Sammy could sing circles around him, whether you like Sam's music or not.

@servantlol Yeah, I dislike about 90% of Van Hagar songs, too much "love ballad" for me. The only Van Hagar song I could listen to very often was "Humans Being". Mikey's harmonies were great but he used them behind Sammy as well. I just don't care for Sammy's voice. I know others liked the Ballad stuff, it just wasn't my idea of Van Halen.
