N900 With the 'X App is not responding, do you want to terminate' 30 times a day , it's even better than all the HANGERS add up in my cupboard!

@theaudifan1 I've had it for about 4 months now, and no I would not recommend it. The battery life is absolutely tits, only lasting about half a day at most with widgets etc. If you have the multiple displays set to only 1 with no widgets or anything you can maybe get the other half of the day out of it. The resistive touch screen absolutely destroys the experience. If it had a capacitive screen similar to most Android devices/iPhones then it would be much, much better. The Linux OS is also slow

@WebCamCartmell don't write it off as slow, until you've tried overclocking it.

turn the screen brightness down a little bit, turn backlight off after 30 seconds, enable that 'power-saving mode' in the display settings..i get a day and a half out of a battery charge with normal use, and my CPU is at 825mhz and the brightness is at 4 (set to1 at night). sometimes i underclock it to 500mhz and it lasts even longer. the phone idles at 125mhz as well.

@theaudifan1 i would recommend it, but you've got a steep learning curve ahead of you. it's capable of being a simple, straightforward machine, but to get it there you have to spend a few hours maybe fine-tuning the settings, downloading a few nifty 3rd party apps that will help you along the way, and a bunch of other things. in that way it's more like owning a computer, than owning a phone. 1 problem: the ovi nav. is dangerous at best, and nokia has orphaned it in favour of its newer phones...

Some aspects of this phone are just fantastic but there are some horrible irritations too. The browser with flash is its party piece which is unrivaled on any phone. The keyboard is great. The screen was the best in class (not anymore) but still top quality. The phone suffers from annoying niggles like difficulty and unresponsiveness in answering calls (seriously). Nokia also doesn't seem to want to commit to Linux. Battery life is poor. The touch and graphics responsiveness isn't iPhone-like.

@dreamandhopeful Personally, I prefer the N900 because it is simply awesome. The N8 is cool because I believe it has a 12 megapixel camera.. But it does not have a nice appearance. And I would rather buy a normal camera than a N8!!
