  • Whats happend to thats my dog

  • Thanks so much! loved it, reminded me of coming home from school at lunchtime!!!!!! Thanks!

  • I used to call him Leonard parking on double yellows is illegal.

Now I think I was very sad

  • Go there Leonard. True legend

  • You don't get newsreaders like Leonard Parkin these days. It was like being given the day's events by an erudite and cultured chap.

  • nice that they play the fanfare even when the clock is shown.

  • Leonard Parkin is the man.

  • The days when regional telly was good, instead of the dumbed down shite we have now!

  • Found a date for this - Tuesday 2nd June 1987; so this clip comes close to Leonard Parkin's retirement (on Friday 17th July 1987).

"Hindsight" was a Border Television production for the network, and as mentioned, "That's My Dog" was from TSW, also for the network. A sad irony to see these two companies with networked show back-to-back, considering there are now no local ITV programmes at all, never mind networked programmes, which come from Carlisle or Plymouth.

  • 0.20 and now its the sale of the century

  • Great clip. Do you have any more BBC or ITN bulletins from the late 1970s or early 1980s? If so I'd love to see them. Many thanks.

  • I love the way that the news has posh state-of-the-art (at the time) graphics and apart from the knight Anglia had bits of card with stuff stuck to them!

  • want one them clocks. and what top newsreader he was . brings back lots memories. bunking off school.

  • The old Anglia ident and Leonard Parkin, both great, both missed.

That's my Dog, one of TSW's few forays into network itv

  • hmm did they always have his on the slide control in shot??

  • Thats my dog..lololol

  • before the clip ended it sounded like he was gonna say " the attorney general has fucked"

  • lol...i remembered Leonard Parkin before they said it.

  • Superb tv theme from the 80s...excellent!

  • ...and now, live from Norwich...!!

  • Thats a great looking clock. The anglia knight is a work of art, very bold, and promotes the channel to be like that. Shame I live in the Granada region and couldn't see it.

  • What year is this from???

  • 1985 0r 1986 i think

  • Looks earlier in the decade to me.

  • @matelot95

    This is late 70s.

  • i heard a rumour that that's my dog finished tsw off!

  • and probably Derek Hobson's career:((

  • If anybody knows the program about animals it was THE WORLD OF SURVIVAL by ANGLIA

In the late 80s i think?

  • Verity Lines is your announcer.

  • Good to see the Anglia Knight and clock.

Those were the good days on ITV.

  • Nowadays, a programme called "That's My Dog" could be about Jodie Marsh! Sorry Jodie. Mike S.

  • i think ur totally right bring back the retro news themes so much better and so much more interesting

  • Bring back the news at one and that jazzy theme
