Thats funny, nah, i don't think its a jeep thing, drew was romping the jeep, and got it stuck in the little creek, with the water up to the clutch, and couldn't get it out. he left it there over night, and so the clutch was stuck together for a few years. finally i took the engine out and broke the clutch free. Wish i'd done it alot sooner.
Yeah, i'm sure alot of them got stuck, but they had a bunch of guys usually and could push them out because they're so light. they even had handles on the sides to help with pushing them out. But i'm sure they were more carefull then this, they probably went around stuff that they knew they would get hung up on. They had some better tires too. Plus my clutch was stuck together, so i couldn't really shift, or use reverse here.
@tommartyn Not to mention this jeep never saw military service since it isn't a military jeep.To be exact, the these jeeps were made AFTER the war as a new model and not a renamed military type jeep.
Excuse me? At any point did i say that this was a rebadged Military Willys jeep? No, not at all. I damn well know these were CJ-2A's made after the war, with thinner frames, (Same engine and trans except syncros in trans) Possibly a different transfercase. i dont know if the gearing was the same or not, but these didnt have anykind of blackout lighting like the military ones probably did. BUT, they were so similar, It really isnt that big of a deal anyway. These had tailgates
@tommartyn i just got a cj2a and thing runs like a top for a 47, these ag jeep are geared lower then the military ones too been doing a lot research and cant wait to fully restore it.
They really are amazing machines. I'm supprised they are geared lower, being that they were mainly sold to be driven on the road by people. The AG thing was a cool extra sales idea, but mostly, they were for the road and off road driving. You'd think the military ones would be geared lower for driving though crazy places where they need alot of power, and to creep alot. I belive you and all, i just never knew that. I know the CJ frames are not as strong as the millitary's
I do this kind of thing every once in a while on bikes and with 2 radio flyer wagons and one time i had an old tricycle with classic solid rubber tires from the 70s and it broke cause i was too big and i got rid of it and now i miss it:( i have a tiny bike now and its fun but not like the trike... one of the flyers is 15 yrs old from '95 but the mini and everything else is new
well, my friend was romping it, and he got stuck in a little area of creek, that was kinda deep, and he couldn't get it out. he left it there, with the clutch underwater, and since then, its been stuck together. so you can't push it in to shift gears. it used to be nice when you could do that... after this video, there was a small wire fire in the dashboard. but we put that out. so things need to be rewired. still runs perfect though, everytime.
that is awesome.
