  • What this video highlights more than anything is how bad the production of Owens-era Iced Earth was. So powerless and tinny. It's a mystery why they recorded this way with him then went back to a beefier sound when Barlow returned.

  • Both are great singers BUT BARLOW IS THE VOICE of Iced Earth there is some magic in his voice that when you think of Iced Earth immediately associate to him

  • Can you make a coming curse video like this but have Matt start and lead? That would be the greatest thing ever

  • Man, Barlow is the wicked child. Owens was just a mistake in this band.

  • Ripper doesn't fit to Iced Earth, although he is a great singer.... but Matthew Barlow, man hes got that special voice :))

  • @seven88dragon Totally agree with you, man.

  • Ripper is a great singer but the voice of Iced Earth is Barlow forever

  • i'm looking for the song iced earth iced earth w/the ripper on vocals is it out there?

  • Jon Schaffer, Steve Harris, and Gene Hoglan: rhythm section of the Gods.

  • Steve Harris, Jon Schaffer, and Gene Holgan: rhythm section of the Gods.

  • Ripper gets his ass kicked up one wall and down the other in this duel.

  • The Ripper.. The Ripper is incredible.. indescribable.. 'HOLY CRAP'-like awesomeness (or unholy crap.. padum tssss)

But IMHO Barlow..He's even better :D And more suitable for Iced Earth.

And btw.. they're never gonna do a duet, cuz it'd be 100x more devastating than someone dividing by zero. They can't have that on their conscience, can they? :P

  • it would be a dream come true if the two teamed up for one tour! Barlow/Ripper side by side! i would od in metal!

  • @83manimal they teamed up for a good many songs like a chance to keep and he clouding, they go grea together

  • I respect them both but i have eternal dedication for Matt cos he give his spirit when

    he performs.Hail Iced Earth....

  • Nice try, but this isn't going to sound good no matter what you do. On the versions with Ripper, Schaffer used baritone guitars to give the songs a more brutal and ominous feel, and therefore Ripper sings the song 2.5 steps lower than Barlow.

  • This shows how much better matt is:D:D

compare the weak and crappy voice of tim to matts...

i don't wanna say that owens is a bad singer...but hello? MATT IS THE KING! Noone can mess with him!

  • They're BOTH great! Iced Earth kicks so much ass!

  • I came.

  • this isn't a duet, these are two songs played from time to time

  • Well this is fan made, and it's more like wishful thinking then anything else.

  • Respect \m/

  • Their duet is better than either one of them seperatly

  • Barlow's version is far better

  • A matter of opinoin aye, but your entitled to it

  • Ripper's not the best singer, but I can't say I hated him...

    This song's cool.

  • Fuckin great! Barlow is Iced Earth, but how can someone not love the Ripper?

  • @seylo Ripper's my favotiye bro! :)

  • nice! and great pics.

  • John Schaffer is god...

  • That dear si,r is the largest understatement of the year so far. Jon is not just god HE'S THE FUCKING UNIVERSE!!!!

    XD

  • i could be technical and say that "god is the universe"...but i wont get into that :)

  • Fucking vitalist...XD

  • XD lol

  • He's the Chuck Norris of metal.

  • Great job man... bt the way it is obvious that ripper is not bad in this song... he is a professionist! But matt sounds ten times better because this song like the others were written for him... framing armageddon instead fits perfectly to ripper voice

  • @Xyron1987 nothing but the truth man something wicked is made for Barlow as framing is made for Ripper \m/

  • Dude, Barlow ALL the way. He OWNS this song, as well as the entire "Something Wicked" album.

  • And i agree, but i don't think Ripper did such a bad job singing them either as some have accused him of doing. And it's obvious that Schaffer agrees, seeing as how he's a perfectionist, and Iced Earth's greatest musical critic, and constently re-recording Iced Earth tunes. i don't think he would have had Ripper redo the vocals if he believed Ripper was doing a bad job. And you have to agree that the music sounds much better then it ever did.

  • @Darkproducer you are right man.. Barlow i miss him for real... , Ripper grate singer , but not in the band anymore , we will see with this into eternity guy
