He couldn't pull it through the door because the Pepsi can is a physical object. Casper can only go inside because he's a ghost. I hate to think I just rationalized something that makes no physical sense, but that's the answer.

Well, the commercial contradicts itself. Because how in the hell would he be able to physically grab the can and lift it up, he's a ghost remember? His hand would go through the can as well. :P
