Home defense is not guns it is keep the bad people outside long enough for you to call the cops and for them to get there (50 minutes). That also mean when you are not there. So you don’t have to shoot them and have nightmares the rest of your life. Only after you set up you first, second, and third line of defense do you worry about a stupid gun. But do get a stupid so you can shoot the bad people if the cops don’t show un in the 50 minutes.

So you saying that judges, who try hundreds of cases a year, and the DA, who makes hundreds of plea bargains a year, should be held accountable if anyone they let go commits a crime? But the alarm system sends the signal to the service provider or the police earlier, i.e.: when the perpetrator opens any one of the doors or windows, or brakes into the house anyhow. When the alarm starts you can hide in the house, the noise will be awful, so the criminal will run if he can. If he keeps on searching for valuables in the house he will have no chance to get away with it.

More then a few require you to retreat to a upstairs bed room lock that door, barricade it go into the bathroom lock that door and then ride you zip line out to your tree fort and the person has to come after you, before you can think of shooting the person. In at least one other state they would let you shoot the person for breaking in to the neighbor house and after they are walking away you could shoot them.

Gun prevent an average of 1100 crimes / day in the continental US alone. Gun bans and restrictions have show 100% of the time to Increase crime (including gun related violence) rather than reduce it.

Compare Australia to Switserland on guns and crime if you really want an idea of what "make all guns illegal" would do to the already horrid crime rates.
