This is Indonesian song and dance... nothing to do with Malaysian.. Malaysians might claim these as theirs (..again..) but it's their bad habit anyway since they dont have their own unique culture... that's why Malaysians "hate" Indonesians.. well.. perhaps the word "envy" is more appropriate. Why cant they simply accept a simple truth ? People might respect Malaysians more if they simpy grow up and stop saying bad things about Indonesians :D Peace yo !

Anyhow, the issue was not about where its from. The issue was why does the National Fatwa Council think its important to issue a fatwa on this dance? There are other more important things to worry about like incest, dumping of babies in Malaysia.

Im so confused on where the religious aspect of the poco-poco is.. seriously.. the guy's talkin about how he loves a girl, and only her.. "cuma ngana yang kita cinta, cuma ngana yang kita sayang, cuma ngana suka beking pusing" means "only you that i love, only you that i care about, only you can make my head spin"
pusing in malay means to go around/circle (around a block, all over town, etc), but pusing in manado means that your head is spinning.

As a Malaysian Christian, I can confirm that this dance has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. Our government is so paranoid. @skycrowleo Sorry, but you are mistaken. Yes, it is in the shape of a cross. However, a Christian cross is not entirely symmetrical. The bottom line is longer than the others, if you noticed. Besides, this dance originated in the Philippines and thus it is attributed to Filipino culture, rather than Christianity worldwide.

They confused all of the followers when make some hasty Fatwa. Faith is among the heart of the people some same some different. I am Indonesian from Bandung, a city where a lot of Malaysians go for shopping. Bandung is the only Indonesian city where there are three times a day flight from Kuala Lumpur. Furthermore, only in Bandung Malaysian can use the Ringgit. Isn't it beautifull ?
