this is really good man! it's really similar to jimmy page's, I love this part, and i'm glad someone actually took the time and made a very good attempt on playing it
I've seen him live twice. And I saw Soda in 2007. He's one of my favorites. But what's Cerati to do with this guy's awesome Led Zeppelin cover? Has he played this before too?
all the main riff is are bass notes on the D string 2-4-5-7-5-4 then 3 on the A. And after every bass note on the D string you just pick the open E string then B string. When you hit the 3rd fret on the A string, also hit the 3rd string on the B string at the same time.
Remember: On the descending part on the D string, when you go from 5-4, skip the open high e and b strings.
This song is not hard to play/figure out at all (well actually depends on how long you've been playing). My brother and I have both been playing for about 4 years and this song is really easy to play.
Anyways to the player in this video, work on your timing of the notes, especially on the descending notes in the main riff. Very sloppy. Don't take this as an insult, just constructive criticism.
I give it a 3/5. You have all the notes correct, just some of the timing of the notes are off.
On the first part he's playing the d-string starting on E and playing the the high e-string then the b-sting then repeating but moving up the d-string, playing the notes found in G-major. On the part starting at 0:30 he's barring the 5th fret and putting his middle and ring fingers on F and Eb on the 1st and 2nd strings and strums the bottom 3 strings and then lets them go, still barring the 5 frets. Hope that helps.
if you like the san fransisco part of this song, (and who doesnt) than go to the search bar, and type in
THE NOBS - SHAKEY TOWN and you should be able to find a led zeppelin performance of this song in 1975 then go to the users homepage and he has a ton of rare zeppelin performances, but the stupid idiot who put them on here changed the name of the band and song so it makes them harder to find.
Great! I was looking for that, and everyone is playing solo. Couldn't figure out the second part of the lick. Thanks !
