  • I dislocated my left shoulder a week ago, and a friend of mine, who has dislocated his shoulder several times, poped it back in again. He made me stand up and relax the shoulder and arm, he then kind of pulled on the arm and turned it a anticlockwise (i think), it then poped in. Im interested in finding out how I can pop it it by myself, because Im afraid it would happen again, and if ur in the midle of nowhere (far from doctors) it seems like a nice skill to have. What are ur thoughts on this?

  • @aotus85 - Hi, and thanks for your message. I would advise seeing a sports physician or your GP. Alternatively, you could go to our website - shoulderdislocationdotnet - and refer your GP to our site. Any medical procedures should be performed under medical supervision. Cheers

  • Hey i have a shoulder condition where it pops out if i do the wrong movement. Sometimes when i put on my shirt, the shooting of my arm through the arm hole will pop it out, or if i put my arm out the window and the wind takes my arm, or ive even woken from sleep because of a during sleep movement. I first popped my arm out playing basketball years ago and it has stayed with me.. I assume surgery is the only way to get it fixed ey? If it pops out, for me, i relax, sit up straight and wait..

  • That was only a partial dislocation.. a full dis-location takes a bit more effort.. but relaxing is a big part.. Nice to see it done well with little effort though.. I hope you have had no futher problems.. ATB j

  • i have dislocated my shoulder recently while playing basket,,actually its my 5th...can i apply this method if a person who handle and massage my affested shoulder has no medical or experties in this method...thanks

  • @michaeljoven19 - Hi, and thanks for your comment.

It is certainly possible for shoulder relocation to be done by a non-medical person.

For your next shoulder dislocation, I would leave the relocation in the hands of a medical professional - a doctor.

If you got to the shoulderdislocation, net you will see a method that you can do yourself - the "Autoreduction method". **But it is important that the first time you do this that you have a doctor show you what to do.**

    Thanks.

  • Darn, easier to put in that when mine had to be relocated. You kiwis have it worked out !

  • @Metals999 - If you want to see some more - go to shoulderdislocation -d0t- net.
