Went there a year after my 3 year hitch in the Army. Felt the peace and serenity that all our people buried here feel. Trace , I hope you stay around a long time, Lord willin and the river don"t rise...........
Been in the Air Force for just a little over 2 years and im loving it. and hearing this song makes me want to do more cause the ones i love and hold dear to me are safe. I salute my fallen brothers and the ones still kickin. god be with us all brothers and sisters
Marines, Soldiers, Airman, and Sailors thank you for all you have done to keep us free and keep the spirit of our country alive. Thank you to the families that love and support our troops so much. I'll be going to basic for the Air Force on September 27, the same day my father did.
This song sends chills down my spine every time I hear it. Thank you everyone who paid with their lives and thank you for those who didn't Without you we wouldn't be as free as we are. My hat goes off to you and you are always in our thoughts.
God bless America and all of those who serve her on the front lines, just try to remember that patriotism is not dieing for your country, it's making the enemy die for theirs.
my uncle was a vet who lost his life last night to cancer this song means a lot to me and a special thanks to the people who give their lives everyday for this country and a prayer for all of their families left behind
WOW- This song says it all. God bless the familes and the souls of those who gave their lives to let us live in freedom today. The videa is awesome. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS
This is a great tribute song for honoring our fallen soldiers on this day. God Bless those who have passed who served in our armed forces!! Your service and sacrifice has not gone unnoticed and unappreciated!!
just posted to my facebook what a great way to honor our fallen , it brought tears to my eyes thank you to those who have passed , i am sorry for your loss to those who known them , to the vet who made it back thank you and thank you for those men and women still serving to keep this great nation free
One of our family friends was a sniper in the 80's after 9/11 he quickly renlisted and in 2004 was killed by an i.e.d bomb. God Bless america, and I will always stand by our troops.
On 22 June 67 my classmate and friend, Alvin Gene Hill of Bartow, Florida while on a mission in Viet-Nam died. He is listed on the Wall, Plate 22E, Line 41. Those of us who were lucky enough to know him can share his joy for life. If you are in Washington someday, stop by to say hello to him and all that are there. Remember all vets and the sacrifice they make to keep this nation free.
@carolinaboykhs63 VERY COOL! I'm from Winter Haven Florida, my first name is Carolina and a friend of mine (she's alot older than I, she can be my mom), her husband served in Vietnam. Memorial Day is very hard for him. My husband is a active duty. We are overseas right now, but we plan to visit the wall when we go back to the states. I will look for your friend! God Bless!
@sailorsgirl1981 i just wanted to say thank you for everything that you and your husband have sacrificed for america. i may be from canada, but i do know the feeling of having a loved one travel overseas.. my uncle is still based over there, and my brother in law retired from being a bomb technician for the us air force. thank you.
The day you died, the state stopped for an instant, in remembrance of a great soldier, and a better man. May God protect you in your journey to the next life.
All these songs bring home the cold harsh facts of war and yet our soldiers keep on fighting to protect their home land. What better place for these heroes to be other than with other heroes! Very fitting and moving song.
as a reenactor of our Civil War and a Marine Corps Officer Canidate, this song hits home...for it reminds us all that our freedom isn't free at all...God bless all who serve and SEMPER FI
This song dropped me to my knees when my husband was deployed. It came on the radio the day after he didn't send his weekly email. Somehow though thinking of this song helped me through those 3 weeks of silence. My husband came back to me safe. But I can never hear this song without thinking of all the families whose silence was broken by a knock on the door instead of a late letter. Thank you Trace for making this song.
Evrytime I hear this I cry. I don't really support the war but I do support our troops! Thank You to all who have fought, and are fightin for the freedom we have now!
I agree, Arlington National Cemetery is our nation's most hallowed ground, every stone marks where a true hero rests and proves that freedom isn't free it takes great men to protect it.
i love it to and people are rude to spam your coment it has nothing wrong with it also my uncle is in the army now i just hope he dont get laid in the ground
This is one of the greatest songs ever made. I get chills just listening to it and no matter what if its just watching the video or listening to the song I always cry
this song got me thinking about going to see Arlington again since I joined the corps. this song got me thinking that I probably cant visit without breaking down. Semper Fidelus to all the marines who died for their country and have the honor of being laid to rest in this sacred cemetery.
Thaddeus S. Montgomery II, Staff Sergeant, United States Army, who served two tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, was killed in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom on 20 January 2010. Sergeant Montgomery, a seven-year veteran of the United States Army, will be laid to rest in our Nation's most hallowed grounds, Arlington National Cemetery, on 4 February 2010.
Rest in peace, Sergeant Montgomery, your duty is done and was done well.
i just came back from a trip to Arlington it was just amazing to see. saw the changing of the guards. i just cant describe the sight of the the graves stretching as far as the eye can see. R.I.P.

we all hate hitlers evil ways but the same principle applies unfortunately. soldiers do what they are told because they fear the consequence of insubordination. i'm sure a good majority of our troops and other countries troops dont want to fight over what rich polititions start
I'm thinking of joining the Army and my cousin said if I have ever died there he was going to sing this song. But I'm just hoping that doesn't happen. I love my country and everyone here.
Amen six im canadian too and im in the process of joining our armed forces and the Americans are an amazing ally i give a salute to all soldiers that have fallen both American and Canadian
I'm sure they thank you if they could. My step dad was in the navy and would gladly sign up agian if he could but to many health problems keep him from doing so.
i pray for all of you that served my gpa dad and alot of good men i know have fought for AMERICA i love this land and would never want to live anywhere else. we do have it good here
Yes killing is not good but sometimes that what if takes. The turn the other check does not always work some times you have to do the old test eye for an eye. sense you are on the subject of killing did you know more poeple have been killed over god than anything else. What I believe is Afrgan we had to Iquar we did not. But we still did to support your troops they are doing what they are told to by there boss.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you know what happened in usa was a "false flag" and we all know that nowdays in europe..and even the subject of "more people have been killed over god" is just "propaganda". if you will have the chance to live in iran or afghanistan you will understand that for sure.
A false flag 3'00 people losing there lives is not fasle you must be blind. Killing over God is not propaganda all you need to do is read history. No I like living where I can speak my about anything and not get go to jail over it.
This song really brings tears to my eyes. my brother is in the army and get deployed in november, and my boyfriend is about to go through basic traning for the national guard. My Family is full of ppl in the military. Pray for all our soilders.
Whoever hates the army or thinks their fighting for nothing is stupid. Our family, friends, and brothers in arms are all there right now and i know alot of people who put them down. God bless ths U.S.A our soldiers and everyone else who believes in protecting us and out freedom and rights.
ok i've come to the conclusion if i don't watch the video i wont cry! LOL but i love this song and i had to watch it and now i'm crying! I guess i like to punish myself!
This song brings tears to my eyes. My boyfriend wishes to be in the marines and I am scared to lose him. I will support him because of the honor he will be carring in serving our great contary. Thank you for everything you have done and the support you have showed the U.S. army. God bless our contary, Our troops, Our heros, and the ones that have fallen in battle you will never be forgotten.
pray for him and remember all of those in service protecting us from the evils of the world. god bless you, your bf, and all of those who made it to arlington
My husband serves this country in the United States Army. I thank you for the songs that bring light to what he and his brothers in arms do for this country.
I wish we could see you in concert someday. Keep up the awesome music.
a beautiful video. Lots of USAF in my family, Dad and Dad in law both Army in WWII. Makes me think of all of them, every time I see this or listen to this song. God bless every one who risks it all for us at home.
A most excellent video, and makes me respect Trace even more. Retired after my 20 in the Air Force, and had the honor of representing at a 3-star internment at Arlington. Very moving and solemn. My salute to all of us who served, and to those who paid the ultimate price.
Almost 17, signing the contract on or shortly after my birthday. I'm joining the Marines. My parents aren't 100% but I'm pretty sure they'll sign it. Meeting with the recruiter to get things started in the next few weeks.
This song in my opinion is 1 of the best that Trace has done to date. The lyrics just cut right down to your soul. When did the times change? We no longer acknowledge the 1s who have fought and died for this country. Almost 80% of the people in this country are a military vet,if they were in a conflict or not. So if you enjoy your free living as much as I do then next time you see a active soldier or a veteran, shake their hand or hug them but most of all don't forget 2 thank them. They earned it
My compliments on a lofty goal. May I suggest that you focus your attention on your schoolwork? You'll have plenty of time to decide what you want to do after high school. Remember, one has to be intelligent to get into the military. Of my 15 years in the Air Force, 11 were spent overseas - over half of which were spent supporting combat ops in Vietnam.
that sucks but he will come aorund Im 17 almost 18 and Im doing preenlistment this summer my dad wasn't to hot about the idea either, but if you show its your passion or you feels strongly about it then he will back you remeber their is not greatest ause then service in what you believe
This song is great it makes me sad two of my cousins are in war serving there country ones in Egypt and the other is... a scary scary place afganistan and hes in special forces so he is quite literly the first one going into war som it makes me want to serve my country and i will.
Great song. I'm wanting to go into the Army. My parents dont want me to, but i want to serve my country and do what the men and women are doing for us right now
This is one of the few songs of Mr. Adkins' which actually chokes me up a bit. It does an excellent job of highlighting just what sacrifices our country has to pay for freedom.
This is such a beautiful song and a fitting tribute to our countries heros. My son will be going the Army within the next year, scares me to death, but I could never be prouder of him for wanting to serve his country!
I'm twelve and plan to join the marines when I turn eighteen.I'll be the first soldier in my family since my great-grandaddy served on the U.S.S. Texas. He died in Vietnam and is in Arlington. If I die in the marines, at least I'll know I've made him proud.
I am a member of the Army. It's great at times but I joined when I was 17. Go out and enjoy life and get a education and start a family. If you honestly do not enjoy making your own decisions at that point than join the forces.
I just joined the Army Reserves. I am 17 and still in High School. You and several others show how patriotic you are through your songs. They inspired me to join. Thank you.
My great grandpa met my greats grandma in world war 2 my great grandpa got hurt and my great grandma had been the nurse and they r still alive 90 and 91 most of my familly go to war as far back as i can see
evrey time i here that song i brakedown crying cz my mm's dad was kill 2 days after i was born so i did no him mom tell me store of him but naver met him.
thank you so much for this song that was written in honor all of the soldiers. my brother was killed in action 1-20-07 it breaks our hearts to see such evil things in this world this song has touched my heart and my mothers it broke hers when she heard it thank you trace for such a touching video
Trace, I've twisted your tail a little bit tonight, having fun. This is a video that brought a tear to my eye. My Father was a Vetern of WWII and a Prisoner of war in Germany, He and my Mom are buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. I'm a vetern of Desert Storm (Big Whup), and you can't even Imagine how much this Video Means to me. Thank You So Much for Honoring the Veternins, They Deserve IT. Thanks, Pal

butcha83 2 years ago
Yes killing is not good but sometimes that what if takes. The turn the other check does not always work some times you have to do the old test eye for an eye. sense you are on the subject of killing did you know more poeple have been killed over god than anything else. What I believe is Afrgan we had to Iquar we did not. But we still did to support your troops they are doing what they are told to by there boss.

you know what happened in usa was a "false flag" and we all know that nowdays in europe..and even the subject of "more people have been killed over god" is just "propaganda". if you will have the chance to live in iran or afghanistan you will understand that for sure.
butcha83 2 years ago
A false flag 3'00 people losing there lives is not fasle you must be blind. Killing over God is not propaganda all you need to do is read history. No I like living where I can speak my about anything and not get go to jail over it.

All the best, my friend.

This is one of the few songs of Mr. Adkins' which actually chokes me up a bit. It does an excellent job of highlighting just what sacrifices our country has to pay for freedom.
Outstanding.

I'm twelve and plan to join the marines when I turn eighteen.I'll be the first soldier in my family since my great-grandaddy served on the U.S.S. Texas. He died in Vietnam and is in Arlington. If I die in the marines, at least I'll know I've made him proud.

Young man,
I am a member of the Army. It's great at times but I joined when I was 17. Go out and enjoy life and get a education and start a family. If you honestly do not enjoy making your own decisions at that point than join the forces.

Thanks, Pal
