K&N Air Filter?! do i really need this? I think I do - can somebody tell me more about why i need the K&N air filter? I have a stock 6.2l with stock air filter and stock duct coming from near the radiator. Looks like too much ductwork to me. And whats that other bulbous thing in my ductwork between the inlet (near the rad) and the aircleaner housing? Should I pull it all out and install the simpler K&N air cleaner - looks like it would provide better airflow(?)
those starters are hard to get out eh? to get the one off my truck i had to take the 3 bolts out that held it in then lower it down onto the front axle then unhook the wires then jack the body up to make room between the oil pan and the axle housing to get the damn starter out what an ordeal not as bad as changing the clutch in it though that was even harder to get that trans lined up again and the transfercase back on
Cranking much faster now - great improvement! What gauge cable is that new starter cable? Looks kinda skinny for a diesel - might want to invest a few more bucks in a good heavy duty cable and you'll have even better luck!
I had a HELL of a time finding a starter that fit...which is why I just rebuilt the old one. Fortunately, Hite Parts (see annotation in vid) is in Columbus...they had it built in less than 24 hrs...

Gauge is whatever Advance Auto has! I guess it's a 4ga?
I know a better line would work. I'll get around to that in the fall, before next winter...make my own...

Where did you get your starter, or did you have the factory one rebuilt. I need one for my '82. Sounds good.
