I bought MSI FX5700 with 256MB VRAM when it was new :) Also added cooper passive coolers to the memory chips, and it was one of the best buys i have ever done.
This card, slightly overclocked, made it with everything... even when DOOM3 hit the market, this card made it on 800*600 with ultra high details, fluently..
All games like Unreal tournament 2004, warcraft 3, battlefield 2... Of course its not for new games, but my PC with 2 monitors serves greatly even now :)
@Ultravideoslave that is because FX stands for 3DFX nvidia used the engineering samples from 3dfx in the FX series... problem was they where designed for the glide engine and not directx and they where designed with multiple cores in mind. as you can clearly see nvidia ported this to a single gpu card without multiple gpu's and being that it now needed to code in directx instead of glide it would also loose performance
Worst than the last Series? Dude the Geforce 4 (Ti not MX) series was fucking Awesome it complete smashed all of ATI's DX 8 offerings and wasn't bested by anything on the market until ATI finished work on their R300 (Radeon 9700) chip which smashed it and was the first chip to fully support DX9 among other innovations.
Please do more research it's the R300 series not Radeon 9000's. (Because the 9000 itself was actually a DX8 chip making it an R200 series card versus the 9500+ being DX9)
its an old classic card.. i ust to have the FX5200 it was great played GTA3 really well.. all the cards ive had are 5200,6600GT,6600GT,X1900GT,3870,4870 the 4870 is my latest card its great beats the 9800GX2 hands down :P
Today I'm looking at the XFX GeForce FX Fifty-Seven-Hundred Ultra One Hundred and Twenty Eight Megabyte DDRTwo Dual Link DVI and Video In Video Out Video Card.
Any more of a mouthful and he'd be giving me a blowjob!

The GTX560Ti sucks.........
Just like this card. LOL
Nvidia's trying to play big cards like they did back during this GFX and they're still sucking.
Nvidia's only real time of Shine was the Geforce 4 Ti' everything else was pure shit and is still pure shit.

wasnt the geforce fx 5950 the 4870x2 of today?
Feder147 2 years ago 2
Not really the Geforce FX was just a burden on the market the Radeon 9000's were kicking the crap out of the FX series.
The Radeon middle range card the 9600's I believe were faster then the fastest FX. lol.
The Geforce FX was one of nvidia's wrost series as well as the 9 series they were useless.
