  • Ross os my fav because his solos made sense. I do like Karl alot, super cool guy and great player but I just loved the Ross style.

  • ... the dictators ... manifest destiny !

  • If you guys are interested in Ross the Boss' guitar playing, check out some videos of "The Dictators" another band where Ross plays.

  • we like it, brother !

  • Incredible.

  • HAIL FROM ENGLAND!

  • Ross invented Manowar with Joey DeMaio

  • Ross is damn good and he was on the debut album, and he didnt rely so much on tapping, the truth is they are all good, Hail from Spain!

  • we disagree, Ross is the best guitar player , music is not a race to see whose fastest ,and Ross is damn fast but why is ACDC the biggest band in the UNIVERSE ?hmm , simple beautiful solos are what people remember , and thats a fact. Gather all the shredders up and Ross will kill them with just a few notes. History has proven the man NO.1 there is no argument, total victory

  • @bosstheross best comment ever

  • Karl is a fucking awsome guitar player

    But he cant write songs.....

Ross is not as good guitar player as Karl

But for sure he can write great songs.....

Thats the differnce in my point of view!

    Hail!

  • Also, to those who label him false metal for playing in the Dictators, they have never claimed to be metal, and they are very good at what they do. After Manowar he could have just coasted on their reputation and repeated what he did with them, but he chose to follow his heart and play whatever the fuck he likes, sometimes metal, sometimes punk, sometimes straight out rock, and he has stood proud behind everything he has done regardless of what people think. He is a legend now and forever.

  • the dictators were bad ass, especially for 1977....

  • and needless to say, Manowar kind of invented the whole "False vs. True" thing, so they can play any kind of music they want, Metal as it came to be known in the 80's didn't even exist in the 70's....

  • Ross is a founder member of Manowar, so without Ross there would be no Manowar. For all those who diss Ross as a guitarist, no he isnt the most technical guitarist ever, but he has a style that is totally his own, he plays with the kind of attitude and soul that most shredders can only dream of, and he was involved in the creation of some of the greatest songs ever. Go watch the video for Gloves Of Metal and tell me you are not inspired by that song and the attitude shown! Ross fucking rules!

  • ross equals to manowars heart and soul, pointless movie soundrack can not longer be selled as true metal!

  • I saw Manowar once with Ross. He was an amazing guitar player. Manowar is always great live. But I miss Ross the Boss with them.

  • ..and by the way.... when ROSS rejoined the band on stage 2005 there were standing ovations for minutes!!! I thought Jimi Hendrix had entered the stage... so who cares about ROSS ??

HAIL to Manowar, Ross and Karl !!

  • Mr. pizzaface without Ross Manowar would not exist and David would not have had a job. Also they havent topped those first 8 records, not even close . And Joey and eric did not write all the songs. Get your stories right dude

  • You are just an ignorant metal listener. MANOWAR is Eric and Joey! Ok Ross is a great part in the history of Manowar as is Shankle and Logan. Whimps and Posers leave the Hall!

  • Yes, I agree to you. A lot of people here telling bullshit and having no background information.

Ross has a lot of writing credits on the songs from his era. Eric doesn´t write at all.

And no one should care about "All songs written by Manowar". This has nothing to do with the credits in the background.

And David Shankle is a really nice guy, but he is not really part of Manowar history...

  • @vectragt2310 david shankle was with the band for 4 years, he was awesome but when the former guitarist was ross the boss and the new one is karl logan you havnt got a chance.

  • odinshred where are you getting your information from ? He left Manowar cause he was asked to, and the first CD he did after leaving was Manitobas Wild Kingdom which is metal. And what punk band are you referring too? The one whose album is sitting in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! maybe you should take a blood oath for not telling lies

  • Who cares about Ross the boss? Ask Manowar fans of whom they first think when they hear manowar they wil say: Eric and Joey.

None of Manowar guitarreros is or was really a genius, i think even two genius (Eric and Joey) is really rare for a band.

  • DEFINETLY Manowar wouldn´t be today where they are without Ross. He wrote a lot of today anthems. He left now 21 years ago and recorded 6 studio albums with them and until today they recorded 5 without him! So after two decades he´s still THE MAN.

I´m a true brother at all - with or without Ross. I also love Karl, but Ross was a lot responsible for the later success and he´s a great guy....

    .

  • sorry but i disagree. manowar are joey and eric. the others can be substituted, and they did.

and manowar recorded 4 albums without ross not 5. and it is usual that in the early days a band releases with much higher frequency than in later years. look at kiss or acdc.

  • but you also see how songwriting changed until he left, as he didi a lot of songwriting also

yes, you´re right with the 4 studio albums... quite a lot in 21 years...

  • manowar's songwriting changed after the sign of the hammer album, and also kings of metal has a different style that FTW. manowar is not famous cause of its guitarplay, manwar is joey and eric.

  • now you convinced me...

  • manowar's music changed after Ross left.

I care, and a lot of people sure do. You are nobody (and so am I) to dissmiss Ross or anybody else.

what I know is that after Ross, Manowar's music flavor changed totally, and I was not disappointed, but it was not interesting anymore.

  • band is still great but I prefer the ross the boos times. the other guitar players seems more like guitar instructors rather than rock gods.

  • @rizzlaxl

totaly agree with you man, ross for ever!

  • Just because Ross was a big part in the formation of Manowar, it doesn't mean that he's brilliant. He left Manowar to reform a fucking punk band, betraying the blood oath they made by being false metal.

And Manowar didn't get weaker in any way after Ross left, they improved.

  • Ross was asked to leave by the band...

  • Chthon128 I think his former band mates betrayed him, betrayed his fans? they seem to be loving it im told so you loose again ! such hate keep it coming

  • I read where Ross has now said that he was "unceremoniously ousted" from Manowar, which was not true.

He is trying to create a controversy in order to generate press. Why start a rumor that isn't true?

And even if it was true in the first lace, then why would he have lied about it all these years?

He insulted Manowar as "self-proclaimed Kings of Metal".

He is doing all he can to ridicule and fuck his old band mates, and the fans who have been so loyal.

Fuck him, and whatever he has to offer!

  • that place quoted him wrong for sure

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting!!! MANOWAR!!!

  • very rare footage. Thanks youtube, thanks Harris. Great song and lyrics....Hail from Brazil !!!!

  • Very rare and unique footage: image is poor but sound is good enough to get an idea of their sound back then. Eric is really a good singer!

And Yes! It IS Scott Columbus drumming, he's a lefty so it's easy to see! Donnie was right handed as far as I know...

  • propably their best song!

Amazing that this was in Maaseik ... only 10 minutes driving from where I live here in belgium!

I was only 4 years old back then, if only i knew ... :)

  • Best line up ever and one of their best songs. Thanks for uploading this vid mate

  • karl is a pussy Ross plz come back to the Kings

  • Ross is a poser and a pussy who has betrayed his fans and his former band mates.

Ross, eat shit and die, for your fake, poser Manowar cover band; you're an embarrassment.

Karl is the one of the greatest, and most underrated guitarists in metal today.

  • hey, ross played a part in creating the style of manowar. they departed on friendly terms. no need to put him down. personally, I like his playing more than karl's, though karl is technically a better guitarist.

  • karl logan is one of the most unapologetically sloppy live guitarists these days. he still tries to play as well as he did in the ninties, and most of his fast phrases that should sound fluid are smudged. karl is a good composer - some of his lead parts would be great if only he could play them! Ross, however, adapts his parts to fit his skill level these days, rather than messing up!

    Hail from England!

  • Fucking Limey; you must be sucking Ross's dick because I've seen Karl play twice live, and his playing is immaculate, live. Furthermore, he puts on a show that Ross could only dream of with his fat ass up there. If he misses a note, it's because he's trying to put on an exciting show rather than stand there like an out-of-shape schlub!

When I saw him, not only did he play HIS parts superbly, but he played Ross's solo's better than Ross could have ever dreamed!oss try to play Karl's?--HA!!!

  • David Shankle is the best for Manowar, he has the charisma like Joey and Eric.

Manowar isn't famous for its guitar, so charisma counts the most. Manowar musically are Eric and Joey, who writes all the songs.

  • what drug did you take man ???

Karl is one the best guitarist in nowadays !!

He plays Malmsteens speed scaels to warm up and by the way has a real feeling like a Ritchie Blackmore...

  • so obviously you never met ross and talked to him. I have many times, when he was in manowar and after he left manowar. He is the same. Is Manowar that? I have been a fan since the start so i can say they are not.

  • this was for chthon128 of course. Maybe should be good to really know what you talk about before you say anything.

  • I met Ross a few times and he is a nice guy. So what. He's obviously trying hard to reinvigorate his career now by the oldest, dirtiest, most dishonorable way possible--by trashing his old bandmates.

you would think that if he really had any confidence in his abilities, he could make a comeback with out resorting to such crap. As an old fan, I feel betrayed by Ross. He's shitting on the people who invited HIM to re-appear at THEIR festival (Earth Shaking). What a pussy.

  • shut up bashing Ross. go somewhere else if you want to be biased.

  • karl is the most overrated, Ross were Manowar and David were acceptable, Karl is just not that

  • Holy shit, this fucking kicks so much ass it is unbelievable. Satisfying to see so many other people agree with me regarding Battle Hymns as their best album. I would kill for a Fast Taker video.

  • so METAL! so Majestic!

  • True Metal

  • i want more!!!!!!!!!!

  • Manowar have so many footages from the late 90-s and nowadays, but it's a tremendous pity that there is not much left from the Ross era. So this one is kinda unique.

And Eric is singing like god here. Just love it!

  • Great but i can`t see anything :(

  • Fuck the world, fuck you losers!

    Hail!

  • Hey bog...get a F******* life... u wouldn't know an artist if u tripped over one...

  • Best band in the world.5 stars

    Fuck the world

  • The best song from their best album.

    Kings of metal 4ever!

  • definietly one of the best albums and songs

  • Battle Hymns is still their best record, by far.

  • very underrated song among the Manowar-fans! Shell Shock is the best song on the whole album!

  • And Donnie Hamzec Was the Best Drummer

  • That's Scott Columbus playing drums here and not Donnie Hamzik.

  • this is heaven.

  • this is either Maaseik,or Antwerp

  • This is in Maaseik, Belgium.

  • Best song from Battle Hymns... Amazing.

  • Fuck yeah, Manowar showing respect for the Nam Vets! Hail and Kill!

  • Obviously they were OK with the filming.

  • you'll hate me

but Ross is nothing next to Karl

    Hail and kill

    fuck the world

  • well these days i think karl is better and he plays great on 'Gods of War' which i think is fucking killer, but the solo spot on absolute power is rubbish its him playing just as fast as he can, but all his solos in actual songs are cool. But Ross back in the day was better I love his playing with Manowar and the Dictators.

  • Hail to Mamowar!!! Thanx brother Stu4HARRIS!!!

  • manowar and good lyrics - unbelievable !!!

  • hah, yeah... I like these lyrics. Great song.

  • Great!

  • ROSS THE BOSS!!

  • Eric always sounds magnificient. Hail Gods of War

  • This is when Manowar were at their best by far. Saw them in the mid 80's twice in Manchester, England. Absolutely awesome, Eric Adams is the best rock vocalist ever.

  • ROSS THE BOSS ROX.HAIL!

  • Ross The Boss is the fuckin man!!!
