  • I checked your website. Apparently you do free screenings of the film, so obviously money isn't your main motivation. Look, I have nothing against artists wanting to make a profit. I'm actually all for it, but a lot of people probably won't ever buy this DVD. Why not just post the whole film on YT, at least for a month or so? These little teasers are exactly that, teasers.

  • I really want to see this documentary. I wish you'd upload the whole thing, instead of just these little teasers. Yes, I understand you need to make money, but your message would really get out there if you make it easily available. Especially in today's free music/ free movie/ free book, computer age.

One other thing: Mothersbaugh: douchebag. Either do commercials or don't do them. But it's lame to do them and then pretend you're all emotionally conflicted. You took their money, do the job.

  • Yup. the Corp sellout

  • I watched the comercial but I couldn't hear it.

  • good for him, hopefully it worked for some kids.

  • The difference with being an artist is that to have artistic integrity, your fame is an accident, despite being a pawn of the record company, you're still an artist..the ones who do a monkey song and dance just to sell are a flash in the pan. If you work for a corporation just to sell your junk to children, you are taking part in and working for helping to make generations of children fat and stupid...Nice rationalization on your part of your corporate sell out though, Mark.

  • Bet you wish you even had any talent to "sell out."

  • LOL, monkey song and dance, aka Soulja Boy.

  • I agree. This is a difinitive example of what a "sell out" is - accepting money to promote something that you believe is bad for people.

Even worse, he plants "subliminal messages" against the product that is providing his paycheck. Tisk Tisk.

  • I don't think he intends his explanation to justify taking part in corporate culture, it's just a nod to subversive art. Kids are going to drink more sugary drinks, oh no... better slap him on the wrist. "Tisk Tisk". You and Jane just sound like huge dorks. I think media subversion and contaminating the corporate stream with conflicting ideas is more interesting anyways compared to smug punk rockers who stand proud with their superior morals but don't do shit.

  • @americandevo Come on man we all have to make a living. I don't think making the hawaiin punch commercial was immoral, though I understand his hesitation to get involved in advertising.

  • Great to see someone who stands up for what they believe.

  • i loved hawaiin punch.

  • Really cool clip.. also i saw you on your website.. your hot.. are you married?

  • haha, amazing.

  • Can't say i blame him Hawaiian Punch isn't as good as some people say.

  • I want to see the commercial. :( That's pretty funny, though! Sugar is bad for you!

  • You can see the actual commercial when our feature documentary comes out next year.

  • Oh, yay! Thanks. :) That was me, by the way. I was formerly chocolatesantea...
