  • thank you soooo much! this is goingto be so helpful in anupcoming trip of mine :D

  • @Pirategal678 You are welcome. Are you taking New Jersey Transit?

  • they moved the fare gates to the main concourse area instead of right near the stairs to the NEC tracks.

  • when the new hudson tunnels open up will the Montclair-Boonton line have weekend service to NYC

  • @tv15busy Yes very likely.

  • @NHRHS2010 do you think upper montclair and Montclair state University will have weekend service

  • @tv15busy I don't know, but there will be a good chance. Let's hope that there will be. After the new tunnel open in 2017, all the NJTransit train lines (except for Atlantic City Line, which runs between Atlantic City and Philadelphia) will have a direct, one-seat service to New York Penn Station.

  • @NHRHS2010 will every line be electrified when the tunnels are built?

  • @tv15busy I don't know. I would contact NJTransit for further information.

  • @tv15busy

It looks like Governor Douchebag is about to kill the ARC tunnel project :(

  • @theraptorfan100 I heard about it. And it makes me sick. Plus, he laid off a few innocent teachers from my high school (and many others throughout NJ)! I thought he was going to be a good governor when he was being elected, but turns out that he's not as good.

  • @NHRHS2010 In no means to start an argument here, but it had to be done. I think the amount of spending being done is way too high and some cuts just needed to be given. Understand that this is likely to be temporary until this economy gets back to normal. The tunnel WILL happen, but it will have to wait.

  • @trainzrok well how do you know that the tunnel WILL happen (even though we have would have to wait for like 50 years)?

  • @NHRHS2010 It depends on how long it takes to repair the economy. The quicker, the sooner the tunnel. Christie supports the idea, we just can't afford it.

  • @NHRHS2010

No, the Meadowlands line won't, lol.

  • if you cant remember "go up the stairs and go right" then god help you

  • Any chance of doing an updated video on this but using the elevators instead of the escolators.

  • I have never been in the elevators at Secaucus Junction but this would be a great idea. Time permitting.

  • lasy year i took the train on the port jervis line i had to transfer at secaucus junction it was a pain in the bit there was nobody there to tell us were to go the lady whrn we went through the second turnstile there was nastyid rather take the train to hoboken and take the path

  • Once you get experience with Secaucus Junction you'll get used to it. If you travel from Port Jervis Line to New York Penn Station after 2017, you won't even have to transfer at Penn Station...there will be one seat ride from PJ Line to NYP

  • and if you need to go from here to conneticut, theres new haven line service soon

  • Well from what I heard, after the one-seat ride to New York Penn Station (no more transfer at Secaucus) and the new tunnel under Hudson River, opens, the project to let Metro North trains have access to Penn Station (Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines), will start.

  • Dude where did you hear that from?

  • I heard that from several websites, like news article, Wikipedia, FAQs, etc, which I forget where.

  • I think I've spent more time at this station that I have in my own house.

  • How did that happen? Do you work there?

  • How long it took to get from Secaucus Junction to New York City?

  • It depends on the train traffic, but it's usually around 10 minutes

  • Why is there a turnstile? In NY, there is no turnstile for Penn Station nor Grand Central?

  • I have no idea why Secaucus train station has a turnstile, but they call it "fare gates". This is like the first train station (not counting subways) I've ever been to that has a turnstile. In fact, Secaucus Junction is very new, compared with Penn Station and Grand Central.

  • Newer than Penn Station?

  • Yes, MUCH newer. Penn Station opened in 1910 and Secaucus Station opened in 2003.

  • no when did the NEW Penn Station Open? The original Penn Station opened in 1910

  • Are you talking about the Penn Station after demolition? That one opened in 1963. Around 2017, Moynihan Station project will be completed which means that Penn Station will be expanded.

  • thanks for the info

  • You are welcome

  • In Secaucus Junction don't they have something to eat there because that would be cool if they do. And what is there to do at this station?

  • There is indeed a convenience store at Secaucus Junction, called Faber. There is a lot of food, snack, ice cream, and drinks to choose from, and there is even a microwave oven as well. It is a very nice looking station.

  • Hey was this on the weekends because train 75 to Port Jervis from Hoboken leaves at 1:25 PM and arrives at Secaucus Junction at 1:35 PM and arrives at Port Jervis at 3:54 PM and did you come from train 76 from Port Jervis

  • I did not come from Port Jervis. I also didn't take the Port Jervis Line. I was coming from the local points in the Main Line. This was in a weekend, indeed.

  • From the camera p.o.v., it appears that you are going from the Main/Bergen/Pascack line to the NYC side of the corridor line.

  • Yep, I was coming from Main/Bergen line (I can't tell whether it was Main or Bergen County line since I took the express train that day) and I was going to New York Penn Station.

  • I guess it would be the same coming from North Jersey Coast to Hoboken or Port Jervis, thats where Im from, Red Bank on the NJCL. thanks for the instructional video.

  • Wow, nice station.
