I don't know why people can't be happy for Mangini, if you look at him up close, throughout the whole concert he's ALWAYS smiling, no matter what. I don't know what more people can want, he's better than Portnoy, he enjoys it way more then Portnoy, and he's a lot more respectable for younger people than Portnoy ever was. He's really an inspiration to drummers.

I'm a drummer teacher, Mangini is really technically advanced, but, no doubt, the drumming of Mike Portnoy in the DT can't be replaced!!! It's another thing...

I always wonder why Lebrie never learned to play some real instrument... besides his kids toy the tambourine.

It makes me nervous just to watch his free hands hanging around, while he walks around with no sense... besides his voice is, well... not so pleasant to hear anymore.

Mike Portnoy is my #1 fav drummer, but I do have to say that Mike Mangini nailed it. They couldn't have picked a better drummer to fill those shoes. I cant wait to listen to the new DT album.

@0NaiveDreamer0 I'm a huge Rudess fan, but I have to agree - he just brutally murders that beautiful keyboard solo. That was probably my second favorite KM solo during his time with the band, my favorite being his keyboard solo in the demo version of A Change of Seasons.

Portnoy had an amazing stage present. He connect with his crowds like no other. I'm going to miss him in Dream Theater. Mangini is basically playing the same parts with a few more technical notes here and there. But, Portnoy just made it a show and made it fun to watch. Now everyone in the band is boring and just stands around. And, this is coming from a fan who has been fallowing them for six years.

@594wendell Give Mangini time to make it his element, as you know he didn't even have time to participate in the writing process of the new album, but he's also great on stage, so in further tours we'll see better stuff from him. Also remember that Portnoy was somewhat the front man because that's how he is. When I saw them in Madrid years ago he stood up over a table and yelled "He's got the magic ticket!" and everyone was like WTF? He just likes to call atention upon him.

Ottimo audio complimenti, la batteria si sente molto bene nei particolari, infatti questo Mike è molto bravo, ma ho una grande nostalgia di PORTNOY..... cavolo ragazzi la differenza io la percepisco a pelle! Comunque Mangini con gli EXTREME suonava molto "RUDE" adesso si è affinato incredibilmente, anzi sembra un'altro....fa il suo lavoro preciso e onesto...bravo.
