@imdakingofny 4.7 is really good speed for a defensive end, espesically a big guy like Allen who is not just a small speed rusher, he has speed and power. Only 2 defensive ends were faster than 4.7 this year, Jason Pierre-Paul at 4.69, .01 faster than Allen and Everson Griffen at 4.66. Only 2 were 4.7 even, one was 266 pounds and the other 261, Allen is much bigger

Thats how most team's neutralize speed rushers like Abraham, they run the ball and run the ball some more. 2008, Abraham killed Saints left tackle the first game, 2nd game, the saints kept running, they had to put in a bigger defensive end to stop the run, and the Saints wound up torching their defense. 4-3 ends have to pass rush and be good at the run, Lde's more than RDe's but still

Allen is one of the rare guys that has speed and power, can rush the qb and get at LEAST 10 sacks a season, and can stop the run, he has 50 tackles, compared to ends like Freeney who have like 25 tackles a season. 50 tackles was Allen's lowest tackle total or his entire career, mainly because he plays on a more talented dline, but still a good amount of for a RDE. Hes had seasons with like 64 tackles or 77 tackles, while putting up 14 or 15 sacks.

Actually, I assumed all football fans knew how a 3-4 worked. You know.... where the 3 linemen plug the gaps, and the two OLBs rush the QB. Most 3-4 DEs weigh over 300 pounds. In a 3-4 defense, most 4-3 defensive ends switch to outside linebacker.
