First time watching your video's seen the link on Beth's page and this is awsome..I have done this with vases and candle holders but never thought of those containers..I will be def. tryin this. Thanks for the idea..hope to see more craft video's..I love crafts
I love recycling. I was going to do a video showing how I recycle tea boxes, but it's basically the same as what you do. You beat me to it! Good job on your boxes. They are very creative.
(Beth sent me) You have made some beautiful boxes! (How much powder do you go through??? !) The fabric box is very nice - could you line the inside of the box with some felt? Would you do it the same way? - roc
Thanks for stopping by popparoc! These boxes have been stock piled for quite a while. Yes, you could line the inside of the boxes. I have always made them for myself so I just never lined them. Lining them would certainly make them more "finished". The way to line it would be to make a circle of felt to fit inside the top and bottom. Then 2 strips of felt measured to fit around the sides of the top and bottom. Thick tacky glue should hold the felt in place.
Yes, I love to take something that was 'at the end of it's life' or on the way to trash and give it a whole new life purpose! : )
THIS WAS AWESOME! Beautiful, unique work. The feet and nobs are my favorite parts. Love the details and diversity of materials. I hope you sell them somewhere! : )
Peace,
Angie
PS I love boxes, so I am really serious...'box lovers' or collectors would eat them up. So, cute.
I am thinking about starting a whole new channel on YouTube for my crafts. I noticed that I tend to "recycle" things also and my channel would show alot of that type crafts.
I used to do craft shows - they aren't very dependable. I am currently looking for a shop to consign my crafts to. Thanks for the comments!
Yes I do. Bitch-ass ugly! I took an old kids metal lunch box (not a cool one) and Mod Podged it in the same way you did here. Then I lined it with a light cotton quilt batting under silk. It made a great purse and I sold it on eBay as Outsider Art ;-)
Thanks so much, Beth! I'm so happy you liked them. I have always saved these boxes and used them to throw earrings and rings in. One day I looked at it sitting on the bathroom cabinet and thought, "Dang, that thing is ugly - I could do something with that..." LOL!
Oooh how cool, I was going to be making up little Valentine boxes. Nothing as pretty as this though, so I may very well skip it and refer people here! Thank you so much for showing us how to do this! I'm totally making one. MUCH MUCH better than the little box I was going to use (just a standard box that earrings come in).
Beautifull crafts, thank you to share it with us!

Can I put my insignia of the horde in that trinket box?
Taterbug889 3 years ago
I suppose you could. However, an Alliance insignia would look so much better! :)
MyRealityBytes 3 years ago
Haha, oh, I don't know if I would say that. ;)

That is really cool! I like the black print one, and I like the burned edges of the verses you chose. Very impressive.

I think Christmas boxes would be great! You could embellish them so many different ways - with holly leaves, snowflakes, etc.

Cool! We used Mod Podge back in the 70's, I remember it seemed like everything in my grandma's house was decoupaged!
