  • This video would be a lot cooler if I understood it.

  • Building one is a great way to get to know a machine. :) If you head off to just about any model engineers show you'll be able to ask questions of the builders directly. The more you read up on something the more interesting your questions become. Or not.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks.

  • It looks very much like a model I saw at the GEARS show in Portland, OR. If I am correct, it is the model that took "Best In Show" in 2006. You can contact this organization through their website. Look up "Oregon GEARS".

  • where can i buy one?

  • It's hand made. You should be able to hire a machinist to build you one or try and talk your way into buying one at one of the model engineer shows. Good luck.

  • does it really work?

  • You should get out to one of the model engineer shows. It's amazing what is possible. :)

  • I like the mini Jed Clampet at the control station

  • This is AWESOME!!! I want to build something that nice and detailed in future. I just started with rotor from a drill, two pieces of steel and HDD neodymium magnets. It looks like old horseshoe dynamo, but is very bad. Has 5Watts.

  • sterling electric generator?

this could be paired up with the solar lenses or fersnel lenses I believe they're called. or the "salad bowl" sterling setup and be completely green for 20+ years :]

    what's the output and setup

  • I have no idea. I saw this at a model engineer show in Estevan Saskatchewan. Love the variety there.

  • its a model of a 3 cil industrie engine!

    NICE JOB!!

  • I saw something not too long ago which pointed to this engine having low-tension ignitors.

  • I don't have the technical details, but it was converted to run on compressed air. I believe it was originally fitted to run as a gas spark ingnited engine, yes. Many at these types of shows do.

  • Is it an actual diesel or a spark-ignition engine?

  • Read up... :)
