Before digital TV, I received 9 grainy, sketchy channels. Now after raising my 1983 Radio Shack outdoor antenna by just 10 feet, I get 22 crystal clear channels. The best thing is it's free. Digital over the air is definitely an upgrade.
It's a good thing to keep one arouond incase of a storm and your cable, tivo, or whatever you have goes out, you can just plug one in and continue with your stories..
Here is my question.I have the converter box,the problem is why my signal keeps going in and out?And at times freezes up.Plus,I learned about the transition of DTV last summer. Why didn't the gvernment and FCC warned us in 2006 or earlier to be ready for the changeover? An how long did they test the signal for problems before putting it in use?
i'm shutting down these rumors now as many modders and hackers as their are out there who have taken these things apart would have noticed something suspect but all it is is a circuit board that unscrambles signals. they use digital to free up the airways for future projects and bassically to have a little more control for censor ship.
The one bad thing thier not tell anyone is . All the companies the made the converter boxes did a rush order on them to get them out. So not all the boxes are tuned right on the money, hance people having problems getting all channels, and problems all around. I cant wait till Fed18 2009, news station will have story on this .
I'm fucking fed up with this NWO, they're watching you all the time shit, I mean, you know how many employees they're gonna need to keep track of every single person in the whole world, all the time, it don't make no fucking sense!!!!
All the people talking about cameras and microphones in Digital converters are idiots. I've taken one apart. they don't have any spy equipment in them.
The real reason for the DTV law is so that the FCC could sell off part of the UHF Spectrum for WiMax.
exactly, I assume all these weirdos who say they have cameras in them are conspiracy nutcases.
Wake up you idiots! there are NO cameras in the boxes. All they do is convert signals so your tv can understand it. Like when someone translates languages to a foreign person.
you need to watch TV you need tv you can't live without TV...don't worry though your government will help you buy the new mandatory conversion box (possible with a camera and mic in it?!)! Great I am not worried at all...yeah right.
The news reporter mentioned that in an emergency you might want to get one. If the power goes out you won't be able to watch tv because there are no battery operated converter boxes. And most battery operated t.v's don't have the audio/video connections to use with a converter box.
I know right! And this is even worse b/c i live in a state that is prown to hurricans and if we loose power, then what? I screwed i can't watch tv. Thanks government you screw up again
Strange! Nothing on needing a more powerful antenna, versus where the TV is located. One DOES need a more powerful antenna, making the noise ratio over 16 db lower. Multipath is also an issue with buildings and passing cars. I wish this segment talked about that. DTV is really an issue that hadn't been tackled in the 10 years its been in existance. Only the converts have improved. BLKbubba has it right, it doesn't work!
No, I didn't know about this. I heard that cable boxes have a camera and mic, but I didn't know the digital converter box would too. I've been trying to figure out why they would make digital tv law. If you know anymore about this, I would love to know too. Thanks.
Is that true? That was the first thing I thought of when i found out this was a government program. I think more people need to be questioning WHY the government is making this mandatory.

Television is a great way to communicate to the masses and helps the world economy immensely. The Internet is now more of a problem than Television.

DTV is a joke...it's a major conspiracy to control what we can and cannot watch on TV.
They can shut your tv down at anytime they want.
It's centered on and around cellular technology.
They know who you are and where your receiver is located.
Welcome to the NWO.
Now, go and figure out just who they are before they shut your DTV down.
