  • Who are the 3 NWOBHM band?

  • @TheMetalheart1992 As far as I can remember, the only unlabelled NWOBHM band (black and white photograph) is Quartz.

  • @MutteringUrchin Thx, good music. Heavy metal got balls back with NWOTHM \m/

  • Both are great, keep metal!

  • To be honest, the NWOTHM tag is rather silly. Proper old-school metal never went away! =)

  • @TheCryptViolator 1: It's just a label. You'd get a few people arguing with you that it's not even "old-school".

  • I believe this has cleared some things up for people. :3

  • Then we went into more of 70's style in the second half of the 00's. with wolfmother and such. Now were heading into the 80's again (which is good). We now have a resurgence in old NWOBHM bands. Which gave rise to many new bands that are huge fans of that era. This began as the NWOTHM movement. Its not new as I said its just a return to old, raw, kickin music. We loved dearly.

  • @lonerocker10 Pretty much on the money.

  • @MutteringUrchin

Heres the kicker. Im 19 :3.

  • @lonerocker10 I know my shit lmao.

  • I can honestly say that I agree that this style of music isnt new persay. It's just that long overdue lull we had for NWOBHM/Traditional Metal bands. It all died around 83 and glam metal took over. Then grunge killed glam. Then hip-hop and pop music took over (which i hate most about). Then in the mid 00's there was the whole british indie rock wave which also lead to garage 60's influenced rock (i.e cage the elephant). History is repeating itself. after the 90's we went back & started the 60's.

  • NWOBHM WIN

  • "nwothm" doesn't define a new sound, nwobhm did. It was progress for the time. Nothing compares to the NWOBHM. Sound and especially the arrangements. And some new bands just sound and act like nwobhm so they can be considered as nwobhm...In few words sounds like marketting bullshit to me. Listen eg to Quartz Satan's serenade to see the huge difference with todays arrangements and sound

  • @AsphyxGr marketting? come on man, they are undeground as hell!

they are trying to brin old school heavy metal back and your whinning like a girl, POSER

  • @xsurvinnorex I 'll say again because you didn't understood my post. First of all, underground doesn't need to be brought in front of the line and become more mainsty. So why naming it. Arrangements in NW was something different for that era, they didn't copy past styles. Arrangements were UNIQUE and sound was NOT CLEANED UP with that fucking plastic digital studio gear. Bands back then were struggling for their RAW sound. At least provide some arguments, learn well the past ;)

  • @AsphyxGr your comment still being useless man, in few words, we don't need you supporting these movement (that it's great) new metal kids will feel indetify whith these bands, why? because they will grow with these bands and they will age with these bands.

I love NWOBHM but NWOTHM it's from my time and i living it, so, sorry my friend, most of NWOBHM bands will be gone in 20 years or less, an this bands are giving new hope to the old school heavy metal.

  • @xsurvinnorex "most of NWOBHM bands will be gone in 20 years" ... nice underground movement you got there with such attitudes. end of conversation I believe

  • @xsurvinnorex Back then there were no heavy metal like this at all, nowadays metal exist almost 35 years ;)

  • @xsurvinnorex If you try to tell that all these great bands like Holy Grail, Enforcer, Skullfist etc. are musically something new to the global heavy metal music of our times, this is totally wrong whatever name you wanna give to it. Sure it's great to exist bands that like to play like N.W.O.B.H.M. but it's very irresponsible from all of us to believe and say that this is something new so as to give a new name.

  • @xsurvinnorex Stop being Mulish, AsphyxGr trying to say that people, and especially music industry, use to give different names when a new and different music movement like N.W.O.B.H.M. in late 70's or Hardcore Metal back in the 90's, or New-Metal in early 90's etc. start to rise...

  • So NWOTHM is like a parallel for the retro-thrash metal bands, I guess? Sound so old, well done!

  • Nice video, I've been searching for more traditional stuff

  • I would consider Jettblack NWOGM- New Wave of Glam Metal, alongside bandssuch as Reckless Love and Crashdiet and loads of underground local bands.

  • @HungryGoth Jettblack it's more in the Airbourne side

  • 1:18 another riff similar to Maiden's Two Minutes to Midnight, don't know which one came first though

  • @rkrokberg

venoms welcome to hell came first ;)

  • @RJGBMTH It was written by The Gun, then covered by Priest around '77 and finally by Girlschool in '86

  • What does the 'T' in NWOTHM mean?

  • @Hubcool367 Read my comments. : P

  • Comment removed

  • @Hubcool367 Traditional

  • @Hubcool367 Traditional; New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal

  • fuckin eh!

  • Whats the track @ 2:40? Amazing

  • @thextinathegina Quartz - Mainline Riders.

  • what is NWOTHM?

  • @tetsuyanamamura New Wave of "Traditional" Heavy metal. "Skull Fist - Heavier than Metal", "Steelwing - Roadkill", "Enforcer - Katana", "Colossus - The Mountain That Rides", "Cauldron - Rapid", "Crowning Glory - Sea of Dead Dreams", "Neuronspoiler - The Outcry", "Helvetet's Port - Lightning Rod Avenger", "Holy Grail - Call of Valhalla", "Volture - Heavy Metal Machine", "White Wizzard - Over the Top", "Wolf - Speed On" and more.

  • @MutteringUrchin was it another movement like the NWOBHM? Where did it take place?

  • @tetsuyanamamura Right now, man! Started at around late-2006. If you like old school Crue, there's a New Wave of Glam Metal happening now as well. "Crashdiet - Like a Sin," "Dirty Penny - Midnight Ride," "Black Rain - My Young Star", "Wildstreet - Poison Kiss", "Jettblack - Get Your Hands Dirty", "Loud N Nasty - Hungry", "Redlight Attraction - Couldn't Care Less", "Vains of Jenna - Get it On", "Sister - Down On Your Knees," "Sleaze Vice - World is a Rollercoaster", "Crazy Lixx - Dr. Hollywood",

  • @MutteringUrchin hello my metalhead friend, Jettblack doesn't belong to that wave, i thin they belong to another new wave, the new have of traditional hard rock, Koritni, Airbourne, Jettblack, Stonerider, The Answer, King Lizard, Hardbone, Million Dollar Reload, 77', Bonafide, Big Cock, AND A LOOOOOOOONG ETC greetings!

  • @xsurvinnorex Heh. Coincidentally, Jettblack was the only band in that list I had to think hard about. They straddle the line between "Sleaze Metal" and Hard Rock, kinda like GNR. . . . Get Your Hands Dirty, for example; Hard Rock. Then "Mother Fucker" is metal. But I agree, they lean more toward the Hard Rock asthetic.

Saw King Lizard live. Not bad!

Oh, and check out "Bullet - Dusk Til Dawn" if you like Airbourne.

  • @MutteringUrchin i'll check it! new wave of glam and hard rock has a lot of new bands, new wave of traditional NEEDS MORE BANDS!

  • @MutteringUrchin Don't forget Bullet - Bite The Bullet

  • The first NWOTHM sounds like Running Wild in a way.

  • Great album, the best they made!

  • NWOTHM? NWO thrash heavy metal ? :-)

  • @MultiXYZ666 i think he/she means true

  • At the begining the song sounded like "Welcome to Hell" by Venom.

  • @666deathghost I can hear the dirty similarity. It's a tune by Hour of 13 (obviously), called "Demons All Around Me". Look it up on here. It's awesome.

  • @MutteringUrchin And like an idiot, I obviously misunderstood that you referred to Cast Iron - Runnin' From the Law. I should rate -myself- down for that.

Anyway. People who've heard Ho13 think they sound like Venom in places as well.

  • THERE BOTH BRILLAINT BUT I THINK U CANT BEAT THE vynal production of the 70s 80s

  • @RubenGardiner Heh. The old school had a tight, almost suffocated production, I know what you mean. The great thing about most of these newer bands is that they're releasing their albums on bonus vinyl as well, just like back in the day. Hell, Enforcer released their first album on CD, mp3, and cassette tape haha.

Still gotta get that, and a record player.

  • @RubenGardiner Their are still bands that take there stuff out on vinyl, vinyl never died and these days it looks like its kind of getting big well where I live anyways.
