One of my favorite songs hands down. This band greatly influenced me as a vocalist and as a musician, in fact it was my first doom anything band, and now i've been through not only a doom-death band but an associated side project and a sludgecore band which will begin meeting to write this weekend. i'm still in love with other forms of metal but November's Doom hold a special place in my heart. Second only to early Killswitch Engage. stay metal guys! \m/ Aphotic kicked ass.

What is sludgecore ?

@extrememetal100 according to the guitarist with whom i no longer work, sludgecore is sludge metal (which already has HC influence) with a far more pronounced Hardcore influence than normal, and drawing its hardcore influence from more along the lines of metallic hardcore like all out war than old school HC like Black Flag.

I used to be a HUGE fan of Novembers Doom. Like maga huge. What changed this was the Christ bashing. I don't understand. Is ND a black religion band now? I am not the most perfect, well not at all actually, person in the world but God has got me out of a many tight spots in my life. But, to each their own

@dogtrauma I can understand how you'd take it that way, that it comes off like we're "bashing" Christ, particularly in this song, but really there's alot more to it, it's more to do with Paul's personal issues with crises of faith and questioning things at the time in his life that he wrote this. We're not a Christian band but we're also not anti-Christian either. Much of our lyrics are meant to be deciphered and taken a bit deeper than how it seems on the surface.

@dogtrauma On the new cd we're releasing in a few months, the lyrics are quite different than what you found on this track. I think Paul's lyrics on the new disc are some of the best he's ever done, and I encourage you to at least give it a try when it comes out.

@wladoom95 We've always been far more than just a doom metal band and always will be. And if you think we're just "death" then you're clearly not listening closely enough to our albums, because there's still plenty of "doom" to be found on them. But if you're hoping we'll put out an album of nothing but slow, plodding music, it ain't gonna happen.
