maybe he's lost his confidence over the years. it's been so long and he's not really a stand-up comedian anymore, he's probably lost his touch. it's like getting an old boxer who hasn't boxed in 20 yrs to go out on the ring. he just can't do it like he use to, not to mention the amount of people who will be having huge expectations for him and he doesn't want to disappoint.
