What section of the Federal Privacy Act does it say I don't have to provide my social out to credit card companies? I know I can refused to, but I can be refused service. I setup home phone with Southwestern Bell in 2002 not using my social but putting down a deposit, the cable company as well.
I don't see how. Unless you are setting up the same credit card accounts. Under Fraud (trickery) but the burden of proof would have to be credit card companies for them to prove that you were going to financially gain using false information. But the EIN would be under ur name ? Bring religious objection to SSN as a defense and you will sure stir a debate. I would make sure of the tax code on EIN use. Refusing to provide a SSN and pay a deposit like with telecom won't land u in jail
