thanks so much for posting this video. been wondering how to do these stitches ever since i saw them on a beanie. btw, i also love your bling-ness crochet hook; much style :)
I tried to figure this out on my own, and was having a rough time until I found this video. Thank you so much for your very easy instructions, and explanations.
@dragongrandma thankyou for creating this video because i just found a pattern that uses both these stitches and now i know how to do them. I had heard of them but couldn't remember how to do them. My friends are always telling me to google things so i did! thankyou again.
My instructions call for C4Lover 4 fpdc and C4R over 4 fpdc. Do you have a video of these instructions. I think I can get the C4L but the C4R just boggles my miund. Marge
Thanks so much. For years I have avoided patterns that called for this stitch. But you did an amazing job of showing me how to do the stitches. No more avoiding those patterns!!!
thanks. I have been crocheting for a while and new how to do dc, but when my pattern called for fpdc and bpdc, I was lost. You made it very easy to understand.
Thank you so much for posting this! I got an arm warmer pattern that requires both of these stitches and the written description didn't help me at all!
Thank you soo very much. You have been very helpful!!! You are truly a blessing to those of us who have problems understanding the art of crocheting!!! God bless you and keep the videos coming!!!
thanx so much i'm making my bff a baby blanket and couldn't figure stitch out from reading. it's great that u did this thanx 4 the help i put u in my favorites.. :)
Thank you this makes way more sense now....its about the 5th video I have watched and your the only one who explains what a post is....lol. I just taught myself how to do this when I got married and its always good to learn somehting new
great tutorial, you explained it very well. Thank You. I have one question, I just bought a crochet blanket that looks like this pattern , except the maker changed colors at every row, they also used single crochet at every 4 stitches, then double crochet causing the back side to have a totally different design. I cant figure out the exact name of the design so I took a picture and am using it as my profile pic. can you please tell me what the name of this pattern is. thanks you so much.
This is an excellent tutorial! I was working on a square that called for these stiches but when I worked them it seemed the pattern was forming on the back (wrong) side of the square. I guess i should have turned the work before working them. On another note, is that FIMO clay around your aluminum hook? That is pretty clever!
I'm glad you find this helpful. Yes it is Polymer clay. I have done this to all of my hooks. It makes holding them less stressful and painful. I've even taken up working with thread again due to these handles.
you are fantastically helpful!! Please post more if you can - I'm 27 and have been crocheting for about 2 years and your video is one of the most helpful I've seen - thanks for posting!
Thank you for posting this one! You've made it very understandable and you are very patient. Now I finally know how to do both a front and a back post crochet!!! MUAHH!
Thanks for this easy to understand tutorial - I'm making crocheted socks for my sister for Christmas, and this is how the ribbing at the top is done. Much appreciated!
so glad i found this! lots of help love how you just keep it simple and to the point! thanks dragongrandma :)

This is just a wonderful thing for an old lady who is attempting to re-learn (by teaching myself) how to do this stuff after 30+ years away from it.
Oh yes...it's just a wonderful thing - this modern technology so that experts can share their wisdom.
THANK YOU!!
