@wheelworker1 I was born and raised in NYC, and if you think that there are very few bad cops than I have a bridge to sell you. I grew up seeing police corruption in my neighborhood. A friend of the family left the NYPD because of too much corruption. Of course there are wonderful cops out there who I give my utmost respect, but the corrupted ones are giving the good ones a bad name. Go spend a week at a rough neighborhood and you'll see police corruption in action. This is nothing new.

@wheelworker1 If the person is not in the way of the arresting officer then he has the legal right to film. He has to be a certain number of feet away while filming. I've been filmed before, but I didn't go around beating on anyone. If I'm walking on public property, then there's nothing I can do. It's perfectly legal whether we like it or not. At any rate, the police can be charged for assault and battery just like anyone else. They have to obey the laws as well.

We need to have the FBI investigate all suspicious behavior by police that involves deadly force. They cannot be trusted to police themselves, and the DA's almost never do anything. Then people act stunned when they hear a cop was ambushed in the hood. When you don't have a functioning justice system, you end up with a "payback" system. The police union is a big part of the problem. The Manson prosecutor has said many times: we must prosecute bad police or there will be no end of misconduct.

This was an atrocity!! Not only the police brutality, but the people standing around just watching it happen! One woman is heard at the end to comment that she couldn't watch it anymore, and soon everyone else is seen just walking away. Can you hear the man filming (or with the guy filming), say "YouTube!" as if he just found a great photo-op?! A friend of the family left the NYPD because of too much corruption. @wheelworker1 If the person is not in the way of the arresting officer then he has the legal right to film. He has to be a certain number of feet away while filming. I've been filmed before, but I didn't go around beating on anyone. If I'm walking on public property, then there's nothing I can do. It's perfectly legal whether we like it or not. At any rate, the police can be charged for assault and battery just like anyone else. They have to obey the laws as well.

We need to have the FBI investigate all suspicious behavior by police that involves deadly force. They cannot be trusted to police themselves, and the DA's almost never do anything. Then people act stunned when they hear a cop was ambushed in the hood. When you don't have a functioning justice system, you end up with a "payback" system. The police union is a big part of the problem. The Manson prosecutor has said many times: we must prosecute bad police or there will be no end of misconduct.
