The Blizzard that cared for its customers died the day they merged with Activision. I still remember the day they merged in 2007. Now Blizzard still makes good games, but they don't give a shit about their customers anymore. Nor do they care about good stories anymore if Starcraft 2 and the latest WoW expansions are to go by...

@steveosquared Vanilla was one of the hardest games you could think of. Don't get any 'veteran'-WoW players started on the PvP or the Cthun-trash. Tho, I liked PvP back in Vanilla more due it was more a 'team' sport rather than a 'bezerk-mode-grind-dem-honours­' type of game. Oh well, times change and so do I.

@Thelols50 The end result isn't a positive with a monthly as opposed to hourly fee, but to a 12 million player audience with all sorts of diff play-times that could be getting overpriced or discounted, the variables probably cancel each other out more or less. Or at least make it much less of a negative than you said.

@Thelols50 Buying time would actually be a negative because as opposed to the monthly system where you can do w/e casually, players would feel obligated to save playing hours and cut choices plus favorites on the game rather than taking time to experience it all. And all the credit card transactions would make my MMO feel more like an office billing job.

@Thelols50 Lastly, in regards to the bundled deals you were talking about with avatar changes... they do have those, just that their names don't suggest it. Faction changes come with a name change, server changes come with a name change if you make an alt on that realm with the same name as the transferred char. Race changes come with name changes. Recustomizations come with name changes. Etc.

The fact that for pay 15$ a month to have an active account instead of having say.. 20 hours of game play time AND the fact that we can't have a name change AND a faction or realm change or any other combo(s) in a package proves that money is their #1 motive. Alot of Free MMOs have upgrade and ingame items you can buy.. but you don't have to, so you could say their motive is also to make money.. but the point is.. free mmos dont suck, but you also don't

@Thelols50 Actually to defend Blizzard you're not looking at the entire situation. While, yes, for some players who don't play that often, $15 per-month is a rip-off to them since they don't spend that much time on WoW anyway. But on the other hand, if you're somebody who plays more than the average gamer every now and then $15 isn't close to enough for the amount of time you play, but with buying by hours instead of months you can't get overpriced, just as you can't be underpriced for play time
