Were the MG Montego's front wheel or rear wheel drive? I know the Mercury Montego's that were built in to 1970's are rear wheel drive coupes. But what about the sedan version like the one in the video?
Great looking Montego. Not a scratch, not a dent, perfect interiors and perfect engine. Looks factory fresh, congrats! Did you paint the rear spoiler or did it come factory-painted? I can remember that they were just black plastic. Alas, very few on the roads today. If only BL had used galvanisation and painted the body all over, including hidden panels!! Here in Italy not even a solitary one survived, you know? :-(
I am looking to buy any Montego preferably an MG, EFI or Vanden Plas but can't find any for sale anywhere. Any advice where i could purchase one please?
I remember my Dad having one of these and a Countryman EFI both were great cars and they were rapid when u hit the gas. Shame so few about these days would love to own one.
@kazimann It's for when you had the Austin Rover towing kit fitted (Towbar and wiring), it illuminated when you had a Caravan or trailer on just to remind you that you were towing....
I love Montegos . Had a lovely 2.0i auto 7 seater estate(1993) for nearly14 yrs. It was superb , never any problems 100% reliable.The body was starting to go though towards the end. Swapped it for a lovely Nissan Elgrand -a beautiful machine -but I do miss the Montego and I would have another tomorrow if they still made them. If I could find a spotless , mint auto estate Id consider it now even. I still love them. Superb and very under rated cars. Real shame they stopped doing them.
Hello montego fans, Just a quick question... My dad had a G reg montego advantage had the same alloys as the one in the video but they were cream and it was british racing green. It ended up getting stolen from camalot and was found burnt out in liverpool on bricks anyhow just wondered if this model was a turbo and is there any pics or any for sale anywhere that anyone knows of? cheers for any help in advance

You Should Do ur Rover as well as this 1 agen when you feel better lol! Anyway nice car. Here are 5 stars lol! You Should have started The Car up lol! Haha i just notested you have a CD Player in yours! Myn is still the standerd radio that came with the car lol!
Just uploaded another of the Montego and one of the ZS. Dont have a Rover now :(, That cd player came out the ZS, i put the Good sony one in the ZS which was in the Montego.

@Gavichap Thansk for the comment, The later MG's had painted spoilers, I had to get a new spoiler as the original was very badly cracked.
