OMG I LOOOOOOOOVE your knitting videos, I think I have watched each one at least four times now. Please keep them coming, they are very educational and make knitting easy!
Hi there!! I love your videos!! I was just watching pt1 and hello to your kitty too (and doggy)!! I was recently at a higher end yarn store in my city. I fell in LOVE with the centre pull yarn. They let me use their swift and winder when I buy from them, but I REALLY want a set of my own!!!.... X-mas is coming!!! LOL - anyways, thanks for the tips, you make me smile, you seem like a sweet and cool lady...take care
Hi, Ravensky. I started knitting very shortly before watching your cables demystified video. I then knit a set of elbow length, cable-patterned arm warmers for someone. They turned out fantastic. I was wondering what happened to that amazing alpaca sweater? Finished yet? VIDEO!? A sweater is my next project. I'm thinking classic V-neck cricket style, very polo. Any tips? Thanks! Love the Knitting Vlogs.
Hi Jacob, I think the cheapest I ever found was $30. That's for the metal and plastic one I'm using in the vid. The site discountyarnsale(dot) com has one for $30. The show using it on the side which is the other way you can use it. They last a LONG time so it's a good investment. I have two, blue and orange. I got the blue one at a tag sale for $10, so that's another option. The wooden one's can get real pricey. My husband always says he's going to make me one...sha right! ;-) Knit on!!!!!
I can see why you love that pattern - it's gorgeous. And it will look stunning in that colorway. It would also make a pretty pillow top for the sofa or bed if you like decorate like that. Or a gorgeous throw. I'd never use a shawl myself, but a throw for chilly evenings? Oh yeah baby. Gotta tell you, these vids are fun!
Ok, now you are getting me interested again in picking up those needles and get started on one of the many projects that I wanted to do. I have new needles and new yarn and just need the time now.. LOL My problem is the way I knit. I learned the English way and am consistent with my stitches with that, but now am trying to learn the continental way and I'm "inconsistent" with my stitches so far. That has made me put things down and I am undecided as to which way to proceed.
You KNOW you want to knit, Judy. Look into my eyes, you're feeling knitty, knitty...knitty....LOL
Just grab your yarn and make some swatches and practice knitting continental until your stitches even out. I won't say it's easy, I have failed at learning english style many times. But I keep trying because it would make two color stranding knitting so much easier! Practice, practice, practice!
my mom would have loved to have one of your spooling machines. well i guess she had two, my sister and i (my sister was better than i was, dont tell her i said that ;) )
id love to learn to make argyle socks!
i always make my sock monkeys out of argyle socks, if i could make my own socks they would be even more 'eden'
i have had the same ignore-y attitude in bead shops. it gets my goat how rude they can be. come on share the love with others!
I would love to see one of your argyle sock monkeys, Eden, have you ever shown one in one of your vids? How cool! I make sock monkeys, but with the classic red heel socks. I have a pattern to make red heel socks with wool yarn. I've often thought I would knit the socks, and then cut them up to make a sock monkey. But that always seemed the ultimate waste in time. Wouldn't it just be better to knit the monkey? *shrug" I guess I need a pattern, or to make on on my own. Someday! LOL
its been years since ive knitted and i was never very good at it then lol.. oh i tried but i kept on dropping stitches and in the end frustration won the day and i gave up ..oh well.. maybe one day i'll knit a sweater and go yay look what i made hahaha we'll have to wait and see..
When I first started trying to teach myself to knit I was knitting so tense that it was nothing but frustration. Then I saw a video online about 6 years ago of a woman knitting Continental style and that was what I was waiting for. It's as easy as breathing to me now. But I still don't finish the %@#* sweaters! LOL
JUst wanted you to know how much I enjoy and appreciate your videos. Thank you for sharing with us!
