the smash ball was not a rumor, but it was not added to the game, until brawl. sakurai even confirmed that they were going to use the smash ball for n64 smash, but it was decided they would not use them in the game.

To clear up the thing about the smash ball, if you look in the debug room for this game you will find unused voices of charecters using Final smashes like Ness saying" PK STARSTORM!". Of course this is just what i've heard but still, it's the only resource we have.

2 things:

1) Captain Falcon's character model is very reminiscent of the original fighter models from Dragon King.

2) The rumour about Pit being in Smash Bros is true. Sakurai, being a huge fan of the Kid Icarus series, practically begged the development team to include Pit in the roster. The idea was rejected and was rejected again before Melee's release.

Kinda weird that the model for the original Dragon King Fight Game (whatever its called) actually made it in the form of Captain Falcon and more so in his Fighting Polygon form or at least as i see it from is stance and attack animations vs the photo you showed. Your pretty awesome Yurofwind, your videos are very well done and nothing short entertaining, you even do really great with music placement along with footage. Keep it up man.

@Yuriofwind That is very true, and I'm sure that, like the final outcome, each colorful fighter would have their own moveset, with a large probability of them being different than characters in the final outcome, such as that Mario and Luigi are almost the same character, with the exception of some certain moves and a model-swap.

@Yuriofwind Those skinny characters were the beta fighters, showing off what the game could do before getting the Nintendo-characters (if I don't remember wrong, it was Nintendo that asked to have Nintendo-characters in it, and Kirby was just added because). They also was one of the biggest reasons Captain Falcon was included (just look at the models)

Nintendo must have figured that since Jigglypuff was widley popular, girls could play and use her, while Pikachu, I guess you could say, would be used more by boys :/ Not that it matters, but I think that's what they were aiming for. Remember, Nintendo tries to attract ALL fans, weather boy or girl, so they have to be smart into putting certain characters their games. That's just my opinion though.
