@jimro1 well... at the start of the book, the guy had flashbacks of his relationship while listening to the instrumental of Norwegian Wood by The Beatles. Maybe that's why the title had to be Norwegian wood.

Best filmmaker and author ! Double Awesomeness !!!! A book written by one of my favorite authors and the film done by one of the best film makers ( in my humble opinion ) who is the creator of "Scent of Green Papaya " Double ❤ ! It is sure to be visually captivating and sensually pleasing .

This book was so slow, and quite....like an Anime. It was like reading a Manga o Wachting an Anime, its the supreme Japanese cliche about love and school. It may hold some appeal for people who is not into that kind of Japanese culture. But really, people say it was sooo good, but I did not feel it like it.

Just finished reading the book. I'm surprised anyone would try and film it. It would be quite slow with not enough happening. It might have made a better mini-series.The story is very sad. I bet if you watched it at the cinema, you'd come out crying.

Hm... interesting. I'm a huge fan of Murakami's and this was the first book of his I read. It just got me hooked on his writing. I never thought they'd adapt one of his novels to a film! Not sure how I feel about it. The lead female in the book was so close to being irritating, that I think in a film it would be impossible for the actress to make her actually likeable. The actor is cute though. I wonder if this is as much of a tearjerker as the book.

This was a good adaptation! It left out a few of my favorite scenes but it was a really beautifully done film. Worth watching for fans of the book, but I'd recommend reading it first.

Norwegian Wood è un romanzo fantastico che tratta con maturita talvolta tragica e beffarda il tema erotico sebbene non sia solo quello ma molto di più. E' un testo con cui ognuno può identificarsi anche per il senso di smarrimento che prova il protagonista di fronte alla società. Such a good film. I loved the book, it's almost a masterpiece, and Anh Hung Tran managed to catch the mood of it. I'm so grateful they casted Ken'ichi Matsuyama as Watanabe, cause when I read the book, I imaginated him as the lead ^_^ It was worth waiting for this film.
