Nature is cruel! Animals are often dismembered or eaten alive, sometimes by their own parents! We humans don’t have to be. We can make our killing more humane by making it swift and by offering the animal a peaceful uneventful life free from predators and stress. Free range chickens live longer happier lives than if they were in the wild. Chickens in the wild would not survive a week!
