I own a 2011 Q5. The best thing I can say about it is it delivers the feeling of 'luxury' when you are in it -- sometimes when you pay lots of money on something, then you spotted something not so refined and it bothers you for a long time -- this car does not do that. About 'German Engineering', I really can not tell the difference; it's a car, most other cars do a pretty good job deliver what a car should be.

False. The Q5 is based on the MLB platform which is the chassis for the A4 and A5 as well as the upcoming A7. Tiguran does not share the chassis or engines and use completely different engine layouts. Longitudinal vs horizontal. Audi has their own factories and there is much more separation than say Lexus vs Toyota.

honestly... an X6 M isn't even in the same league as a Q5. And an X3 is just as worthy as wearing the BMW badge as the Q5 is of wearing the Audi badge. I test drove it in the rain and it was going 80 around wet corners and is a very well built vehicle.

I think the X3 was more of an 'afterthought' for BMW - rushed in order to fill a niche they didn't have a model in. It never seemed to be complete IMO. The ride in the X3 is not very polished and I think the exterior/interior design of the car has a lot to be desired. Design has been lacking from most of the BMW line since Bangle. IMO, very good off-center steering feel is not enough for them anymore.

it actually replaced the already established X5 so that they could size up the next generation X5, it was not a rushed completely new model. They added the third row in the new X5 and brought in the X3 to keep the old two row configuration, and those are all really great opinions that you have there, but I just happen to disagree.

The Q5 is very tidy and nible. It's right there with the X3. I like how Audi is making their LED their mark. Now I see a few other companies taking that idea... Overall, its a smaller Q7 and really efficient. Best of all its VERY WELL BUILT! The Q5 is so solid. Excellent, Audi making a great vehicle again. Like always Audi making the best quality and reliable interior of any manufacturer.

I had an Audi A6 bi-turbo for a few years. Loved the car but was built like crap. So many things went wrong with this car after 50k miles. Also had an S4 wagon. Similar issues as the A6, same engine and such. I love the cars, they way the look and handle and drive but never ever again will I buy another Audi. I guess if I want all that I love with Audi but a car I don't have to get fixed all the time I should by a Mercedes? Have an Infiniti now and love it,80k miles and no issues.
