I am thinking about driving to Alaska from NC. I have seen videos of trips from May to Sept. What time of year is best for traffic, weather, and over enjoyment in your opinion?

I think too many people crashed from either driving too fast on the loose gravel, or from getting blinded by the dust. They will usually let big trucks through in their own but if there are any 4 wheelers around forget it. =\
