  • A marvelously sweet rendition.

  • Wow! Lesley sounded just the same in 1982 as she did in the sixties! Thank you for the upload! I've been enjoying listening to a lot of your Lesley song uploads.

  • The Ronettes sound better... i'm jus sayin.. but she doesnt sound bad

  • @jonecia2010 Yes, The Ronettes recorded this song originally. And their version, by contrast with the flatter, Motown-like arrangement of The Dixie Cups, is fuller, and with an echo chamber; sounds as if recorded in an ac tual "chapel," the "love" probably from Phil Spector for Ronnie (and vice versa, at least initially).

The Ronettes version also featured male voices (sounds a bit like The Beach Boys), so therefore not, technically, a strict girl group record.

  • What an upbeat, inspired version of this great song. This sounds like a Lesley Gore song....

  • it is my best song

  • have always loved Lesley now I know why her music is out of this world

  • the one who literally ruined chapel Of Love was Bette Midler!

  • I remember thinking that THE CANVAS CAN DO MIRACLES was an unusual LP for Lesley. It seemed like some of the songs had pre-arranged backround tracks on them - but at any rate she does a great job with CHAPEL OF LOVE as well as the other tunes featured on it.
