  • I starting taking care of an all black feral cat colony in my neighbourhood. I have taken in 5 and have started taming them and have found 3 homes. Most of them are responding well to taming. And trust me..it's brought me tremendous luck. I haven't had much work in the last 6 months and now I have too much work to handle! I also got accepted into the school I have been dying to attend..I truly believe they are LUCKY!! And they are just downright adorable.

  • Ok... I am convinced, I will adopt a black cat

  • Oh I have a video I made to help educate people about black cats actually being extreamly good luck. And it encourages people to think about adopting a black cat from their local animal shelter too. (help others see it by "like"ing it!)

  • black cats don't bring bad luck, they HAVE bad luck

    thumbs up if you agree

  • @MCPrincess1995 Black cats don't get bad luck, white cats do. Black cats are actually extreamly lucky. Watch my video I posted about it to learn more :-)

  • @MegaMonkeyTrouble ok, but it's bad luck if they don't get adopted

  • @MCPrincess1995 lol, yes, that I'll agree. (poor kitties...)

  • @MegaMonkeyTrouble :) oh and its pretty bad luck that they got stuck with that stupid supersition

  • Are people really that superstitious? i think black cats are the most beautiful. My niece had one, and when he looked in the window at night, all you could see were magnificent green eyes!

  • I adopted a black cat and I named her Luna. She was 5 years old at the time. I was three at that time. i loved that cat so much, and over the years she got older, and then in 2007 she had surgery on her eyes. She was blind in her left eye. In 2009 she lost half of her memory. Finally on October 31 2009 she ran off. A couple of months later she was found in my fathers car underneath the passengers seat. That cat changed my life forever.

  • I cannot for the life of me imagine a human being so overwhelming stupid and moronic that they would say or think, "I can't adopt *that* cat, for it's all black and black cats are unlucky."

But I know these people exist, and that depresses me. I wish it weren't so.

If it weren't for the fact that cats need homes so badly, if I worked in a shelter and a person told me, "I'll take that cat instead of that one because that one's all black," I wouldn't let them adopt at all.

  • I volunteered at a shelter and have adopted my beautiful all black kitty from there. She was two when I got her and she is now six. She is the sweetest kitty I have ever had. She follows me everywhere and gives me kisses, too. She is the awesome! Her name is Shadoe.

I can attest to the fact that they are adopted last, but fortunately many at my shelter were adopted, including the FIV carriers. Black cats are just as precious as any other.

  • I adopted my black cat, Noah, from a shelter 4 years ago...( I also have a pure white cat that I also adore who was a stray that I took in at the same time I got my black baby). My black baby is the best, most love buggish, tolerant laidback, loving cat in the world!! It's very sad that black cats aren't adopted as much. Wtf...so sad...
