  • Why does it have a rash?

  • And you say that grew overnight... amazing just amazing =]

  • it's the mana tree :D

  • some neightbors where i stay at got about 3 spruce trees

  • there is a bigger one next to the queets river

The Queets Spruce is the largest in the world with a trunk volume of 337 m3 (11,901 cubic feet) it's 75.6 meters (248 ft) tall and 455 cm (15 ft) in dbh. It is located near the Queets River in Olympic National Park, about 16 miles (26 km) from the Pacific Ocean.

  • Yes the Queets Spruce is one of the northwest's largest Spruce trees and if you go by the" Van Pelt System" of tree sizing , it is the biggest and the Quinault tree would come in around third, now if you use the "American Forest System" the Quinault Spruce is the largest and the Queets tree would come in around third. One system is for wood volume and the other is for over all size, both good systems, just a little different ways of looking at trees. Both huge, both worth a trip to see.

  • @rainforestdon ahh but the Queets tree is much nicer because it is a real forrest tree and you can hardly see it from the road just a few feet away and that big osprey nest at the top is just the icing on the cake

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK Well if you have to choose , that is up to you. I think both trees are amazing and bring happiness and joy to people that get near to them. Both trees are worth our respect. Obviously you have a special place in your heart for the Queets Spruce and that is good.

  • American Forest's has it listed as the World's Largest living known Spruce.tree.

  • Sorry, that's not the biggest spruce tree in the world. I've cut bigger ones down than that. Also that is not the largest volume spruce either. Maybe the oldest, but not the biggest.....

  • Quinault is in Washington State on the Olympic Pennisula . We have many large record size trees in our valley.

  • Sitka, I presume?

  • Yes the largest Spruce tree in the world is a Sitka Spruce.

  • Thanks. It looks really huge. Very impressive, I didn't know they could be that big (wide).

  • good job in pointing the camera UP ya retard

  • This tree is a God and should be worshiped as the creature of perfection from nature that it is. I saw this tree in july 2009.

  • this is not the biggest spruce tree in the world. The biggest spruce tree is the carmanah giant which is 312 ft. tall on vancouver island.

  • when they score what tree is the biggest, they account for age and circumference as well. That one may be 312 feet, but not as big in volume.

  • Natures Power's Lol that tree would suck up ALLOT ALLOT ALLOT ALLOT of water :S

  • My Dad cut the top off a 22 foot thick spruce @ 200 feet to use as a spar tree, when he was logging spruce for airplanes in the Queen Charlotte Islands during WW2.

It was the tallest and biggest spar tree ever rigged.

Where he cut it off was 10 feet higher than this tree is.

I have a picture of him on a rigger fir spar tree that was topped @ 180 feet.

It was 3 feet across where they cut it off.

I'd be willing to bet there are still spruce trees bigger than this one is.

    Damned nice tree.

  • That sounds like a big tree, this one was about 260 feet tall before the top was blown out in a storm ,some 30 years ago. It is about 20 feet thick, 4 feet above the ground. hopefully there are a bunch bigger then this one, they just know how to hide pretty good.

  • Then this tree would be the same size as the one my Dad topped and rigged.

It would be at least 22 feet through at the base.

  • ill be affraid climbing that tree

  • ive been there

  • thats not the worlds largest ive seen spruce almost that big out logging theirs ones taller than that and wider in B.C canada

  • Acording to the American forest Assn. it is, but it all depends on what is meant by largest: wood volume, tallest, biggest around and so on. I have yet not seen any Canadian Spruce tree that would beat this one by the American Forest Assn. standards. If you know of one, please post it on YouTube, the more big trees the better.

  • how old that tree is?

  • They say about 1,000 old.

  • If you had looked up towards the top of the tree, I would have given you 5 out of 5! I'll be visiting here in August. Thanks for the preview.

  • We went to the one in Oregon which was the "co-champion" with the one in your vid. I'm not sure if photo or video does the job. You probably agree that some has to be there to experience the massive trunk flare to get a feel for the immensity.

Like redwood images? I've got a paga about the largest known, with images. GOOGLE:

mdvaden + Grove of Titans Redwoods

Look in the URL at the top of the search results. It will be easy to find. Lot's of images.

  • Big tree or little man?

  • Well you could say both, he is only about 5'9" and the tree is about 200'

  • omg!!! thats where i live, in Lake quinault!! i live next to the lake

  • didnt look too impressive...and why on earth didnt you pan up? :)

  • thanks for the comment, the tree is impressive, it's my camera skills that need work. I will have to do a better job next time.

  • sadienaveen your a fuckin moron!! get a life

  • OMG I live about 45 miles from there...in good ol' Taholah...
