Actually they did go Fallout style with the ending.
Play through Fallout 1 'n 2.
Both have slideshows with narration and were released years before NWN 2.

Maybe so, but the original NWN also had slideshow ending. I wouldn't say it is "Fallout style" ending, rather just slideshow ending.

after watching marvelous endings from BG IWD and NWN1, this one pissed me off -.-" but i loved the game anyways, thank the gods now we have expansions avalible (:

I have to agree with this as well, the ending was a letdown compaired to other games Matthiafsa brought up.
The narriator just sounded so bored with the script, especially when you listen to other narriations like in Icewind Dale or NWN.
