  • The bards will do songs of this ^^

  • fucking amazing!

  • Why do I want to play age of empires 1 and 2?

  • I feel like this song would work well as 'The Rains of Castamere'

  • Using this for my Vampire: The Dark Ages game. So much despair, so much hope.

  • 14 lanasters

  • sounds like Age of Empires 2

  • sounds like Zelda music

  • Amazing! Very suitable for a series like Game of Thrones, i would expect for its better version.

  • 12 people live north of the Wall.

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • I think all the covers are great just for the reason that the original intro and song are great.

  • it's a cute one... XD

  • A Lannister always plays his...Lyre?

  • Yep, that respect the medieval musical era

  • Yep, that respect the medieval era!

  • @Pinkiporki Pas moi.

  • Best than original

  • CMON SEASON 2

  • this is so win. so very win.

  • This is totally sweet! ^^ Nice idea, too. A lot of people are covering this song with some pretty out-of-the-ordinary instruments, it seems. XD

  • 12 lannisters disliked >.>

  • should have some more emphasis on the base line, sounds a bit dead buts its awesome anyway, good job :)

  • wow this was really good

  • Grat job! This is amazing! Fits perfectly into my D&D games xDDD

  • @SalemGreywolf ...and so am I, oooohh oooeeerrr.

  • Ramin Djawadi I Love you !!!!

  • Holy Shit this was 100x better than i thought it would be :P

  • They must make a 'Game of Thrones' Mount&Blade MOD.

    SPREAD THE WORD!!!

    LONG LIVE WESTEROS!!!

  • Gets pretty damn close to actual medieval music. Nice job :)

  • Perfect.

  • Lol this is like the inverse of a techno remix.

  • Ah, a little peace in this warring game of thrones.

  • This is really neat!

  • Oh my god, this is an orgasm in the form of sound and visuals.

  • You whisked me across the Narrow Sea, high above the Free Cities, past the domed temples of Mereen, and safely back to Winterfell in less than 2 minutes! Excellent cover ^_^

  • @Aru18 no Mereen yet, we.ve not even been to Quarth

  • This truly is a beautiful cover

  • @nonsensesociety you a baldurs gate fan? it totally reminded me of it, mate. great job, well done and thank you.

  • @minikbalina Baldurs Gate is awesome! I haven't played it in a while though. My girl plays it all the time though :D

  • @nonsensesociety Just got my nine-year old sis to play it. She loves it!

  • Wow, this is amazing. Love it.

  • I liked this before even watching for originality(sort of).

  • You just earned yourself another subscriber, mate.

  • This should be the theme for the next Age of Empires!

  • Amazing. Truly.

  • Ultima Online MIDI file! LOL!!!

  • Nice job with the instruments. Goes extremely well with the opening.

  • Nicely Done

  • Very nice. Thank you.

  • Excellent. The opening sequence (music and animation) was the only thing I didn't like about the series.

  • It ia just me or this sounds like a lullaby?

  • Adorable! =D

  • You must be a wildling to be able to play all those First Men instruments.

  • Comment removed

  • wow!!!

  • This should be a theme for Series 2 ;) ... amazingly epic !

  • Age of Empires II Version!

  • @Mastalink

    Wololooooo.........

  • Not bad mate, keep up with good work.

  • omg it's amazing and very original

  • this version is very zamphirish

  • To be honest, this is a really good cover and quite a unique version on the song itself.. Well done :)) However, I feel the music fits more into a peaceful time. And given the setting and mood of the Game of Thrones itself, it's nothing but peaceful. It's a period of war, tense political environment, ppl fighting for their honor both directly and indirectly. So I'm just not feeling the mood of this medieval cover into the mood of Game of Thrones. It's just my opinion though. Really great work ^^

  • @TommyIrianto which would perhaps make this song a good ending for the series and book, if we are to assume that the ending would be even remotely peaceful lol

  • @Xyntech06 YEES !! I agree.. Although the book is far from having an end, with the author taking years to write between books and I'm guessing there's still like 3 more books to write to end the series.

But I do have a better idea. It sounds perfect to be a ending credits theme song for each episode just to set the closing peaceful mood to the listener. ^^

  • I lost myself just there and chucked my chicken bone over my shoulder.....

"Another goblet of wine good sir...and where are my whores? "

I guess being a girl I wouldn't have whores but you know....

  • @heartofsnow23

You shall have the finest rent-boys m'lady!

  • @heartofsnow23

    Well...there are ''male whores'' :)

  • @heartofsnow23 they would probably be called wenches.

  • @heartofsnow23 Man whores, perhaps?

  • The audio sounds kinda like Everquest2 and Vanguard...

  • Parts of this makes me think of Age of Empires II - and that's a good thing O.O

  • @MaxieTheSwe WoLolo Exactly! "More Wood Please"

  • @rbh1138 Monk... I need a monk!

  • check this remix out : game of thrones theme electro (attitudes remix)

  • This is AWESOME. Best GoT theme cover thus far. Bravo!

  • @claymang Seriously? I mean, this is quite good, but try Jason Yang's version. It's better than the original.

  • @GedKelly1999 I hadn't heard that one.. It is definitely very good. Better, from a technical standpoint without a doubt. Though something about the "medieval" sound really sticks with me..

  • @GedKelly1999 Actually.. maybe you're right after all..

  • sounds good. please remake this with actual instruments if at all possible.

  • reminds me of legend of zelda for some reason.

  • Round of Applause for this beautiful music from Westeros.

  • Even though the origonal song is brilliant, i think this is better for the show its self :D

  • Even though the origonal song is brilliant, i think this is better for the show its self :D

  • What instruments did you use to record this video?

  • @Mat3usFX Lute, dulcimer, guitar, recorder, penny whistle & light percussion.

  • Excellent work!

  • Nice job!

  • Haha. Relabel this the SHIRE HOBBITS cover.

  • Is this tune available for download anywhere? I checked iTunes and it's not listed under Chris Collins, nor could I find it on the websites listed in the description.

  • This is cool, actually sounds like a period piece.

  • very soothing

  • Very original !

  • do you have sheet music for a flute part?

  • i love how this song can be soo heavy and so calm at the same time :)

  • Interesting Instruments, but the whole thing just sounds a bit hollow.

No offense, though. A bit of mixing and refinement and it will be there.

  • @MuckingAbout0: Because audio mixing existed at the time of these instruments and Medieval DJs appeared in tapestries.

  • @AchanhiArusa I think @MuckingAbout0 simply means that this is obviously a synthesized version. Obviously it would sound better if done on instruments by a real quartet (which are not actually all that hard to come by, what with SCA and Revels and Renn Faire productions, but hey, you'd need access to the musicians :-)

  • +9000 internets for you!

  • If something like this were combined with a 120 piece orchestra like Corvus Corax's Carmina Burana it would be PERFECT. HBO has plenty of time to revamp the main theme, this time with proper instrumentation.

  • Your version of GoT has been name-checked:

    blastr.com/2011/07/11-stunning-and-often-odd.php

  • Is it weird this reminds me of Age of Empires? XD

  • Good but I still like original

  • i think it would be a great song for a scene in a great ball.

  • awesome good job!!

  • This cover has a great feeling to it. I imagine sitting in a tavern with a beer and listening to this song ;)

  • Sounds like somehting off the soundtrack of Age of Empires

  • would like to see a baroque era style cover of the game of thrones theme.

  • This is beautiful! Job well done!

  • Some f**king Lannisters must've 'disliked' this. Kill them all!

  • This is...actually fantastic. This would make an excellent overworld theme for a Game of Thrones RPG or something.

  • @superfunfrankenstein Thanks! I played all the parts over the original and then removed the original.

  • @nonsensesociety that is quite something! great work!

  • @nonsensesociety Posted for my FB friends to enjoy. Very well done!

  • awesome!!!

  • More and more covers are appearing of the theme now, but this one deserves to stand out. Really nice work.

  • OMG

    ALL THE AWARDS

    YOU WIN THEM

  • Game of Thrones meets Ultima VI.

  • Very nice

  • Great cover!

  • @RobLucci3 Thank you so much!

  • Nice. This is what it would probably sound like if played by Westerosi musicians.

  • @SimBen3 yesh indeed, it would be pure win if HBO had a band of musicians play this IN the series, you know at some market square, in the background, trying to earn a few coins ^^ and jamie would walk past and be like "hah, all this rabble, not deserving of my time" :D

  • Me gusta! Well done, nonsensecociety!
