You whisked me across the Narrow Sea, high above the Free Cities, past the domed temples of Mereen, and safely back to Winterfell in less than 2 minutes! Excellent cover ^_^
To be honest, this is a really good cover and quite a unique version on the song itself.. Well done :)) However, I feel the music fits more into a peaceful time. And given the setting and mood of the Game of Thrones itself, it's nothing but peaceful. It's a period of war, tense political environment, ppl fighting for their honor both directly and indirectly. So I'm just not feeling the mood of this medieval cover into the mood of Game of Thrones. It's just my opinion though. Really great work ^^
@TommyIrianto which would perhaps make this song a good ending for the series and book, if we are to assume that the ending would be even remotely peaceful lol
@Xyntech06 YEES !! I agree.. Although the book is far from having an end, with the author taking years to write between books and I'm guessing there's still like 3 more books to write to end the series.
But I do have a better idea. It sounds perfect to be a ending credits theme song for each episode just to set the closing peaceful mood to the listener. ^^
@GedKelly1999 I hadn't heard that one.. It is definitely very good. Better, from a technical standpoint without a doubt. Though something about the "medieval" sound really sticks with me..
Is this tune available for download anywhere? I checked iTunes and it's not listed under Chris Collins, nor could I find it on the websites listed in the description.
@AchanhiArusa I think @MuckingAbout0 simply means that this is obviously a synthesized version. Obviously it would sound better if done on instruments by a real quartet (which are not actually all that hard to come by, what with SCA and Revels and Renn Faire productions, but hey, you'd need access to the musicians :-)
If something like this were combined with a 120 piece orchestra like Corvus Corax's Carmina Burana it would be PERFECT. HBO has plenty of time to revamp the main theme, this time with proper instrumentation.
@SimBen3 yesh indeed, it would be pure win if HBO had a band of musicians play this IN the series, you know at some market square, in the background, trying to earn a few coins ^^ and jamie would walk past and be like "hah, all this rabble, not deserving of my time" :D
The bards will do songs of this ^^
