This is my favourite piece by Bach. Love it. Sometimes when I listen to it I can imagine it as a ballet with the dancers dressed as in Bach's time. I have never tired of this piece. I think classical music like this is the highest spiritual height man can reach. God bless these men like Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Elgar etc. What joy they have left behind.
Hey guys, I'm a newbie when it comes to classical music, but I've started to really appreciate this genre... However, I'd really appreciate some tips on who to listen to when it comes to a slower, more melancholic tone. Thanks!
@thesugarcoatedrose I wouldn't consider it a genre, but more like a totally different art altogether. Edvard Grieg is my favorite composer, you might know his popular In the Hall of the Mountain King and Morning Mood. He has some soft pieces like Solveig's song, Aoes' Death (I hope that's spelled right) and Spring in Norway, and he has many uplifting pieces like Anitra's Dance, March of the Dwarves, Elfin Dance, Norwegian Dance, etc. Mozart and Vivaldi have many relaxing pieces as well though :)
I just posted the same tune, but it's at a slower than allegro tempo, and called on the record I used, "Violin Concerto No 1." This is my favorite Bach song, including the ones Lennie Tristano mentioned as his own favorites. This version is more "ornamental" than mine, but very good as well. Thanks for posting.
The genius of Bach shows in the master blend of the load of perfectly refined, strong emmotions and the superb, strict and totalitarian-like discipline of rythm and rules of contrapunctus! Shame and pity to all who think that there can be something really good and inspiring created without discipline, passion (which means suffering!) and knowledge!
@tigresskyong Although the Four Seasons is an excellent piece of work, these two composers have completely different styles and cannot be compared. Bach is a master at interweaving melodies to create the best harmonies while Vivaldi was excellent at showing off a soloist.
It is somewhat depressing to think that the mind that created this sublime violin concerto has turned to dust & become part of the soil of the earth for more than 300 years. I sincerely hope i am wrong & that J. S. Bach's brain is out there in the heavens somewhere!.
That depends on how great the hyper-inflation was during the inflationary epoch at the beginning of our universe. If the rate of inflation was sufficient, it is possible that the actual universe we inhabit is about a googolplex larger than the observable universe, which would mean by sheer law of probability there is right now another Bach composing music somewhere in the vast cosmic ocean.
I hope so, 1955pita. I see on your website a photo of Franz Liszt who it is said was the Rudolph Valentino of the 19th century. His immense musical virtuosity, smouldering good looks & mesmeric personality drove the ladies wild. They would fight over his velvet gloves ripping them to shreds, of any other part of his clothing, for a souvenir.
guys i'm looking for that violin music they use on videos and has that intense feeling something like this please i'm desperate and i need it until thursday
It's a different type of classical music, which doesn't appeal that much to your taste. That does NOT mean Mozart and Beethoven are "lower level". That's a very childish and stupid way to put it. Mozart was just as much a genius as Vivaldi.
The sound quality of this is not so good. But speaking of this particular Bach piece, I do not understand why it is not more popular and played more often than it is. It is one of the all-time greatest hits of the second greatest musical composer of all time
I love Vivaldi and Beethoven. However, after I had my encounter with JS Bach music I found him to be a superior musical mind. Coincidentally I have met a bunch of music lovers to live this process eventually recognize in Bach, the essence.

@arthurssilveira Four Season by Vivaldi is also the greatest! It won't be fair to pick the best. They're all the best in my opinion!

I agree, you find this concert in any possible format and quality literally all over the world, but still, and, also true Bach is second after GOD

You are right about one thing. Bach is second. He is second after Mozart. Not your "GOD".
