The worst part about this level is that if you get a game over on the Mach Speed part, you have to waste 6-7 minutes to try again..

1 minute to find the way into the level.

Sonic, why do you need to speed up? You're the fastest hedgehog alive. You don't need to speed up, your regular pace is enough to catch that train, save the princess, run to the castle, and have time to spare to get some chili dogs.

This and the next part used to be my least favorite parts (next to the final level videos) and I would always skip over them when watching the LP, though after sticking through the entire video, not only does the commentary more than make up for the play skill, but I now know that it took so long because of tagging out.

Wow, this is easily one of the worst stages in this game. Not only is there the horrible "save the train" mechanic, but they throw the hardest speed section in the game at you.

IMO this stage, the desert stage, and the undersea base stage are probably the worst stages in this game... next to the obligatory BS final stage, of course.
