I did this once without the jet because I was desperate to use the Atomic Fire as my first weapon. I am glad someone got the pattern down for the blocks. Heat Man's stage is easy unless you remember the pattern of those Yoku Blocks.

Have you tried using the crash bombs at 1:04 and the one after that? It doesn't seem like it would make it faster but I'm just curious as to why they pput those blocks there.

Either way, Heat Man himself is darn easy, his STAGE IS KILLER. Props for beating the blocks.

@thesonicgalaxy Only boss besides the alien that can be healed by attacking. At least as far as Mega Man 2 is concerned. I watched a video of someone using the Crash Bombs on Heatman, he went all crazy and shit. Made me lawl.

You should have used bubbleman at the end and item 2 on the long block sequence. Great thinking using metalman though. I've never tried that. ;D

1:45 is the hardest bit of this level for me. I only played this recently, and when I finally got to Heat Man, I was all like 'Oh noes! I only haz one more livez!' then I died and had to do the level all over again... The last bit really isn't hard once you get the rhythm.

great run, and as for the blocks, they seem to have a sense of humor, cause many things in the endless mode on megaman 9 was taken from all the other megaman games, and the block puzzle is in there aswell Dr wilys stage 2 water free fall thing..

great run, its wonderful to see that blasted puzzle done in a speedrun.

Man, those appearing and disappearing blocks always annoyed the hell out of me. I can recall playing this game on the NES once a long time ago and beating that part barely, and now when playing on an emu I just couldn't get past it.

Though I got pretty close it seems as I wasn't far off from getting past it again.

Beh, some people find this part so easily, I just want to rush through the levels blowing up stuff and picking up power-ups, not memorizing an invisible platform puzzle. :(

Why do you jump right after you damage Heatman everytime?

Because in this game when you stand still and shoot you're frozen and can't move on the ground. Kind of hard to explain, but get this game and shoot and try to move left and right - you'll see that you can't. He jumps to avoid that restriction.

Pretty much. You get 'stuck' after shooting while standing still and your movement is delayed for a second. You need as much space as you can get against Heatman to be able to react to his heat dash.

Hey, dude!

If you want your speedrun better in Heat Man's stage, use Bubble Lead instead of the mega blaster. You'll kill Heat Man quite quickly with it and it'll be even less time for you. :3

I've never been able to get past them blocks over the big lava pit without item 2, very well done! Also, for that machine you used time stopper on, you can use the air shooter to beat it in one shot.
