The problem with "get out the vote" drives and things like "vote or die" or "rock the vote" is that they don't really go after the root causes of why Americans don't vote as much. They don't try to convince Americans as to why they need to start voting for good people in office, and they have to stop being so pessimistic and feeling hopeless. We CAN do something about these problems if we all band together. You can't just ask people to vote who think voting's a waste and hope to change much.
Voters always complain that their vote doesn't matter cuz politicians are all selfish and greedy, but the fact is, if you keep voting for shit, you're gonna get shit! If you want truly great Congressman, vote for the right candidates! Don't waste your vote on the lesser of 2 evils. If everyone voted for who they truly believed in rather than the lesser of 2 evils, then the others wouldn't be a "wasted vote", like a lot of people think. Vote your conscience. Don't settle. Or run yourself.

in wisconsin, when you vote you are automatically added to the available juror list and are selected for jury duty. i am sure there are many states operating in this fashion. voter turnout will always be low until this name passing is stopped

The US is more democratic than Belgium to be honest, but if you take the Scandinavian countries such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden then you'll see that their more democratic in some perspectives and less in other regards, but Belgium is very undemocratic in too many ways.

I live in Kentucky and last week I was deeply disturbed when informed that I will be unable to participate in the primaries. In Ky. Independant's can NOT vote in primaries and i had to have changed my posistion by Dec31st. What kind country-club mentality does my state maintain? Am I not a citizen like anyone else? It seems unfair that because i tried to keep an open mind I am now being punished for it.

The system really doesn't seem fair. My state (NC) has far fewer choices after a certain portion of the country gets the privilege of choosing first. Some races have been close enough that it seems the participation of more states, or different states, at an earlier time might have switched things up a bit.

electronic elections is a waste of the whole thing. demand paper ballots otherwise it is clear, the elections are going to be stolen.
RON PAUL is the only real change everybody is looking for and what the nation needs, but main stream media (run by corporates who dont want change cause it will endanger there position)dont want you to know what RON PAUL IS REALLY ALL ABOUT, and they try to give you the impression he doesnt exist.

Wrong. You are forced to vote in Belgium that doesn't seem to be very democratic. The US is more democratic than Belgium to be honest, but if you take the Scandinavian countries such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden then you'll see that their more democratic in some perspectives and less in other regards, but Belgium is very undemocratic in too many ways.

Ron Paul is not the antiwar activist his supports say he is.
His stance on the Iraq War is because of his Paleolibertarian isolationist beliefs and not because he is a man of peace.
His claim that he "did not write those newsletters" is simply NOT acceptable.
They show us his sympathy for the white militia movement and deeply held bigotry against blacks & gays.
His campaign is chocked full of neo-nazis and white supremacist. He can't deny them fast enough. Everyday more are exposed.

California banned all 4 vote counting machines. Ron Paul 2nd place win might have something to do with those paper ballots. Let Americans decide in California. I live in Kentucky and last week I was deeply disturbed when informed that I will be unable to participate in the primaries. In Ky. Independant's can NOT vote in primaries and i had to have changed my posistion by Dec31st. What kind country-club mentality does my state maintain? Am I not a citizen like anyone else? It seems unfair that because i tried to keep an open mind I am now being punished for it.

The system really doesn't seem fair. My state (NC) has far fewer choices after a certain portion of the country gets the privilege of choosing first. Some races have been close enough that it seems the participation of more states, or different states, at an earlier time might have switched things up a bit.
