I was raised JW and I fight it every chance I get. I'm not going to follow any group, cult or otherwise, that compares itself to sheep. Sheep are not very bright and they basically play follow the leader their entire lives. Seems to me that the WT Society doesn't want us thinking too hard about... well... anything. I have plenty of other reasons too, just not enough space.
Truly man do your research on the holidays, compare them to the bible's teaching. Any bible. Dissfellowhipping is part of the bible. Taught by the apostles who where taught by Jesus Christ, who in turn was taught by Jehovah. You know the reason(s) as to why you aren't apart of the JW's. When I was growing up Catholic, I was NEVER asked if I wanted to celebrate my b-day, or holidays. I was FORCED to do it. But when my mother split with my dad, The jw just point out my faults, And say all non JW will not be in paradise. It's lucky you came to your own sense and got away. Experience is the best teacher and when you try and tell people not to join things, like religion's , relationships, making life decisions they wont listen most of the time. I went down the organized religious route myself and experience taught me well. I'm so thankful to be away from it. Nowhere in Scriptures does it say this about the Father. But if it is “Jehovah” who is speaking here, then this can only be Jehovah Jesus, God the Son the Messiah and Redeemer, who was sent by Jehovah the Father (Zechariah.2:8-13), and who became incarnate (Philippians.2:6-9), to be sold for the price of a slave, 30 pieces of silver, and then suffer crucifixion so that He could draw all men and women to Himself so that none should perish. Does anyone else find it odd that even though Witnesses are "to be no part of the world," they have youtube accounts?
I was raised JW and I fight it every chance I get. I'm not going to follow any group, cult or otherwise, that compares itself to sheep. Sheep are not very bright and they basically play follow the leader their entire lives. Seems to me that the WT Society doesn't want us thinking too hard about... well... anything. I have plenty of other reasons too, just not enough space.

Truly man do your research on the holidays, compare them to the bible's teaching. Any bible. Dissfellowhipping is part of the bible. Taught by the apostles who where taught by Jesus Christ, who in turn was taught by Jehovah. You know the reason(s) as to why you aren't apart of the JW's. Boy, I grew up in the witnesses also my experience is vastly different than yours. This system we live REALLY trys to control our time!!! Not JW's!

I agree, Jehovah witness is a cult from Satan. if you notice in the jw (so called) bible, every verse about receiving Jesus in your heart has been changed to proclaiming Jesus,
You can PROCLAIM Jesus all your life and go to hell, only when we receive Jesus in our heart as lord and savior are we saved

When I was growing up Catholic, I was NEVER asked if I wanted to celebrate my b-day, or holidays. I was FORCED to do it. EVERYONE else was, and I was afaid to speak out and say "It's lies,WHY are we doing this"? Valentines day is obviously a lie,there's no 'angel' shooting arrows into hearts. There's no Santa and reindeer that fly.There's no dead coming back to life on Halloween, no scary stuff happens then.It's all a big lie. The bible does say to teach your children about God=Deuteronomy 6:6,7

Perhaps We need to ask WHY. the New World Translation teaches that Jesus Christ is Jehovah, & why the Holy Spirit is a real person, & not just an active impersonal force as Watchtower says,because the Spirit has all of those attributes that make Him a person, like Mind Will & Emotions. Jehovah's Witnesses are not really Witnesses of Jehovah. How do I know this? Because the New World Translation teaches they are not!

If you love God and the bible, it is NOT boring. If you want to be WISE and learn from the SMARTEST PERSON in the UNIVERSE, JEHOVAH GOD, then it's not a problem to listen. People go to schools to learn how to become doctors, lawyers, etc. WE are learning to be true disciples of Christ! It takes WORK and TIME. We are glad to learn. It saves us from wasting our life away smoking, drugs, sex misconduct, abuse,running after money with multiple jobs.WT Society saves us ALOT of grief! WE have truth :D

1) Having the 'mind of Christ' means being separate from the world=1 Corinthians 2:16. This world is CONTROLLED by Satan, so we must be careful not to come under it's influence=1 John 5:19. It's like Jehovah is telling us "Don't play out in the street." He is protecting us from dangerous and truly evil influence. I KNOW firsthand that this world is CRAZY and seriously wicked. People lie, cheat, abuse, steal, name calling, violent BIG TIME. We need to stay with God's holy organization :D

@RevelationsEagle They cannot hold you prisoner forever. No matter how awful it seems to you now, know that it is normal to feel this way; ALL teenagers can't wait to be 18, & they think their parents are awful, but think about the positive; your parents love you, & they are doing what they think is best for you; they're trying to protect you. Love them & respect them. It will make things easier all the way around!
In the meantime, do good in school & prepare yourself for the real world!!

it helps at least u understand. Ive always been scared of any religion. When i was a little boy the catholic church terrified me. But when my mother split with my dad, The jw just point out my faults, And say all non JW will not be in paradise. It hurt that i was confused and believed that because i wouldnt see my father or his family. But I told my mom and the JW when I got angry...

@dmatt30 You are very lucky, sir, as I have read many stories, & heard many testimonies of former JWs whose entire family deserted them; many have come home to an empty house, family gone, & a curt note saying, "Don't try to find us."
You might want to read one such testimony.
In his book, "Truth or Consequences," Roy Milton tells a sad & common tale of discovering hidden facts of the true Watchtower after 35yrs of faithful service, & how he lost his wife over it...

@dmatt30 Your wife does not represent the majority of those who are faithful to the Watchtower...all "loyal" members of the Watchtower are required to view any family member who has been disfellowshipped (whether living in the home or not) as "an enemy of Jehovah God," & to thus SHUN them, even if that disfellowshipped family member is their own child!!
Read up on the Watchtower's view of disfellowshipped ones; what the "proper view" of them is, & how important it is to NOT BE FRIENDS with them!

now we only go to meetings 2 nites a wk, the done away with the bookstudy nites. they included the bible study in on the nite on the ministry school cuz of the cost of gas. theres a new song book with less songs

It's lucky you came to your own sense and got away. Experience is the best teacher and when you try and tell people not to join things, like religion's , relationships, making life decisions they wont listen most of the time. I went down the organized religious route myself and experience taught me well. I'm so thankful to be away from it. I dont think you are SON of Hittler DO YOU. ?????. Kindom halls doors are wide open to anyone , IS NOT a cult. is not required 10% of your earnings , or income.
