Will having my software in low quality directories hurt my ranking?

So it won't ever hurt my site to have links going to my site from crappy list sites or search engines or spam or porn sites? Just as long as I don't link back to them (which of course, I wouldn't)?

No, the link would have to be reciprocal for any damage to be done. :)

No backlinks have negative impact on a website unless if the site is back linking to low quality sites.

One way links from any site have no impact guys. If the link is relevant then good for you otherwise that link will be discarded.

If a directory has PR1 then is it still a low quality directory.

Hi Matt,

I guess Richard is asking this because of the links listed in those directories. Most of the low quality directories link to you software product page and / or download link. Actually thiose directories are just "themed" link directories.

@Richard, just don't use them. There are only a few directories with traffic, all others are just wasting time ;)

@Richard, you can ask directories to link only exe files... but they also provide courtesy link of your homepage which you cannot avoid... :/

this is aggravating. when i go to the channel page and try to click on other videos nothing happens. i miss the old way of just listing all the videos in order without all the additional boxes and sectioning.
