My daughter attends your church. I am glad that you use innovative means to draw people into church. My husband also attend a similar church in KY. The ones who yell the loudest usually have so many ideas about how church is to be done. Remember that ones yelling "Crusify him!" were yelling it because Jesus didn't do "church" the way He was supposed to. Just love. No matter what they say, just love. Keep reaching the lost and changing lives like Jesus did.
i was there when this took place and for the record not only was this play fun too see ,it showed christian people can have fun . awesome it was . for the doubters go see for yourself . this church all about jesus .
It is so sad that people are so concerned with their own view of what they think a church shoulde look like that they miss many opportunities to when the lost,Paul clearly understood this in 1 cor chapter 9,scripture follows
19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. .
22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
@batya1029 I think it's sad when church members can't see the fun in things and are so uptight that they criticize anything that doesn't fit their mold of what "church" is.
@BLUWOODsouth Just for the record.....I believe the "traditional" churches are all too often too legalistic and the contemporary churches are too busy trying to conform Christianity with the world. I thought we are to stand out from the world...look different.
I don't have any other "mold" I am trying to fit except what scripture describes as "church," and I haven't found a church in this country yet that looks anything like the first century church as Paul and the other Apostles describe.
@batya1029 Sorry you feel that way. This is actually a small part of a much bigger Christmas series, where the point is exactly the opposite - how Christ needs to play a bigger role in Christmas. We just posted this fun excerpt that people wanted to see again.
@batya1029 It is sad when a church takes "Christ" out of Christmas. That is why I love Stevens Creek. They keep Christ in Christmas by not hiding behind the mask of religion! They show their joy in Christ EVERY day through drama, service to the community, and above all by basing EVERY message on verses and principles directly from the Bible. I look forward to the Christmas series every year and can't wait for the conclusion on Christmas Eve. Thank you, drama team and staff!
