@sTapleEVA i'm not a fan of tori, but she's got a bit more credibility than amy lee. tori's music tends to be somewhat experimental, whereas evanescence is pretty much rock music. i will check out those tunes though. i have to admit i've only heard the early singles (bring me to life, that cheesy one where she's all sappy saying "these wounds won't seem to heal" or whatever), so maybe they've gotten better.i just don't like that corporate polished sound. i will check your recommendations tho.

Sure it's got some emotion in it, and yeah amy may take a few "risks"(not the first person to use a harp in this capacity however- check out joana newsom or deborah henson-conant for some truly innovative harp). Do you listen to anything they don't play on the radio? A crime would be to limit yourself to strictly mainstream acts like this. Support some independent artists for a change. i'm dubious of any band with personal stylists.

I like it that even they're so huge they still do covers, because they still love other bands and want to do tributes to them. They're not trying to outdo the original, just giving what they can back to those bands that were an inspiration to them. If you don't like it, then listen to the original. Yeah it's different, but it wouldn't be a good cover it was exactly the same!
